| Incubi: Love the models, love their raw melee power, but they are often too good for their own good. They perform so well, that it's extremly difficult to protect them, as they draw more fire as an aircraft carrier. Grotesques: The new models are way better than the old, but their just not my style. Wracks: Great Troops, nuff said. Mandrakes: The old models were crap, the new are gold, unfortunately their rules didn't get the same upgrade. Harlequins: too expensive, too slow Bloodbrides: just too expensive for the minor upgrade and not scoring
Trueborn: They arent exactly cheap, but realy cost effective, pack more firepower than anyone should have and are extremly versatile. But, what realy makes them my favourite is, that they're just conversion heaven. The warrior sprue is the best base one could wish for and the fact that there is no official model just makes everyithing possible.

| This thread is kinda interesting where favorite = performance.
I know I fell for it as Grotesques are really cool in fluff but do well on the table but Trueborn really do not have a great fluff description - they perform well so people like them only for that.

| Incubi are my favorite. They were my pride and joy for 10 years. They did bad things to snooty meq players. | |

| My favorite is trueborn, simply beceause they are so good. It's great fun watching people try and try to take out your ravagers, only to find out that the little squad of 4 trueborn floating around has more firepower than your heavy weapons platform.
Incubi are fun to play just to destroy marine players and make it look easy in the process, but the lack of grenades steers me away from them more often than not.

| Trueborn.
4 blasterborn + blarchon killed a Imp. Guard superheavy
5 trueborn with 2 SC and three 'carbines killed the Nightbringer
Sorry Incubi, but untill you can do all that, go back to killing MEQs.

| Hmmm
Models or rules?
Rules = Trueborn (Blasters) never let you down.
Models = Really cannot choose between Mandrakes and Incubi. Maybe Incubi just edge it.

| Hands down, Incubi. Intersting fluff, powerfull mechanics, and one of the most awesome looking models in the range, these are all purpouse winners for me.
Second favourite for me are mandrakes. I know they suck, so don't bother telling me, but I love their fluff, and the models, apart from the one of the sculpts, are breathtaking.
thirdplace are the Trueborn. Sharcarbines and alot of special and heavy weapons, they just say "Honourguard" to me.
As for the others, well, I like them, but the Grotesques and Wracks are cut from my book, because they represent an aspect of the DE i'm not interested in. I want fast, lethal beauty out of my elves. Bloodbrides just doesn't seem worth it for me. You gain 1 attack per model, and 1 special weapon for 3 pts per model, and loosing scoring at that, it's just not worth it for me. And Harlequins? I like the models, they're nice, but the fluff is terrible and they're crap in the game.

| Actually harlies in a CWE army are amazing if used well, though without fortune/doom they are not worth having in a DE army.
Yeah bloodbrides are probably the worst elites choice, Im not getting the 'powerful' mechanics on the incubi mind , needing 4's can often mean a whiff , and where are their damn tormentors ? the models are truly amazing , the rules merely 'good' they are far from an auto include.
Also having them strike after GK and be wounded on 2's with no save is a big turn off, you meet a GK army and the Incubi can't really do much, maybe the tormentors could have helped with that....

GK's are initiative 4? Incubi are initiative 5.

| let's be fair, everything gets toasted by GK's. Don't CC GK's. And what's not good with 3 +1 str PW attacks at init 5 with a 3up save per model, because face it, you'll be charging, and you'll have rounded up FNP and FC in short order. That said, bringing incubi won't win you the game, but use them right and they'll certainly help! | |

| It was a close call for me between Trueborn and Incubi, but I followed my heart and voted Incubi.
Incubi just have cool models, awesome fluff, great rules. I just have this bizar love for them and will field atleast 1 tiny squad in a Venom always at minimum.
*Concerning the comment about killing stuff too fast. That has more to do with how you play them IMHO. Small squads with nothing fancy in Venoms. If you still worry they'll kill a squad too fast then make sure the squad behind it can be locked in CC aswell (by Hellions or Reavers or something).
Trueborn are the best if I rationalize it. They offer great versatile play against minimal costs. But... Yeah you know... Incubi are just awesome!

| Actually, Bloodbrides might be one of the best Elites choices to bring against GK for an assault unit. They'll strike at the same time (stupid Halberds...), you can get a crazy number of attacks off with 10 of 'em and 3 Gauntlets, and a Syren with an Agonizer will cause some damage (or a Whip, if you want to punish them for being stupid enough to bring Hammers), not to mention that they'll still get their 4++ save, even if they don't get FNP 'cause of all the power weapons.
Also, Bloodbrides are cheaper than Incubi.

| My favourite when it comes to Eldar in general are the Harlequins, but for Dark-Eldar specific elites, the Incubi.
When you're a Dark Eldar and you can throw yourself into the heart of the enemy army and hack your way through, you know you're badass.

| Incubi are the reason I wanted to play Dark Eldar in the first place. The moment I saw the first clear pictures of the models, I knew that I would eventually be starting a new army. | |

Unless the enemy have halberds ¬¬ 'Hello, I'm Mat Ward. What's that you say? You have a unit specialised in killing elite, heavily-armoured units? Well, I can't have my precious Imperials being out-done at something now can I? I6 force weapons for everyone!' I think I've actually found a vague use for Harlequins again.

| My favourite? - Incubi
Why? - The fluff, the models, my power armoured opponents are terrified of them.
Most competitive? - Trueborn
Why? - In 5th ed mech is king, therefore anti-mech is king.
Also im pretty sure Matt Ward is retarded... ive read his fluff...

| I have so many favorites from this slot. Bloodbrides, Harlies, Incubi, all of these things are awesome in a hat (though in the Incubi's case, a hat now sadly lacking in guns). Heck, fluffwise I actually pretty much love them all...with maybe the Bloodbrides as the weakest in fluff. Tabletop wise I love...most of them, with Mandrakes as the clear loser because...dear gawd guys.
I voted Trueborn. I think on the tabletop they are awesome. I think when modeling them, they allow a lot of depth and options which are awesome. Painting, I have seen a lot of people using interesting alternate schemes for them, which is cool. Finally, fluffwise, I *love* the whole concept of an elite society born naturally as opposed to the vat babies that are the rest of the DE - awesome fluff potential there.
Trueborn - for the win. | |

| Incubi, hands-down. The elite of the elite of the elite, sire, with grisly trophies*.
I really do miss their Tormentor helms, and the fact that the Tormentor has been retooled as a fluff toy that causes horrible psychic agony to an opponent BUT HAS NO RULES.
But when it comes to pure elite badassery, the Incubi are top of the heap - not to mention their lovely new models, which I've done a 180 on since actually acquiring some.
