| I think the max in standard games is 8, and in my area tourneys always have 5. | |

| I think the general rule of thumb is bring 3 of your own.
The assumption is both players have enough of their own objectives to take care of half of the d3+2 you could need.

| Hmm... best thing is to assume that Your opponent is "Local Idiot"* (I mean if he NOT play Dark Kin) and would NOT bring objective markers, tape and other stuff. Anyway more than 5 is rarely needed. *pun not intended | |

| Round my parts we generally have 5 each. Just to safe.
So I would make 10. 5 that are for GW events and 5 for causal/RTTs

| I was reading the Scourge entry again and realised a fallen messenger would be cool. Think I shall be doing that. Whether to have one in flight, dead/dying or in chains is something to decide on. And how it makes sense in anything other than a DE vs DE battle is something to ponder. | |

| Say he was carrying a valuable message for the Archon, who happened to be on holiday on the planet, pillaging villages and such. | |

| That just NOT gave me "Deff Squadron - Katch da Squigeon" flashbacks.
Ok, it did. Good times...
However I wonder how it should look. Winged chunk of charcoal? If you are winged cyborged mutant in armour then I expect something more than death from lasgun...
I would make some sort of obelisks, maybe blooded. Easy, cute, fit ~90% of wargames.

| I would make a non combatant for your opponents army. so your DE can extract information from him, once they got him/her/it. Gives you the opportunity to roam freely. Another approach might be the tastes of the homuncuii as described in the codex. something like a little girl from hasslefree... if allgoeswrong, get the harem girls | |

Can't afford using a Scourge for that. I'll just make an objective marker with the letter...

| I found a RPG adventure figure set that gave me an Evil looking portal and some sort of scary looking beast. I thought these would make good objectives - an entrance to a secret part of the webway and a big monster for the arenas. I also made up a base with a giant spider on it, another RPG miniature as I thought the DE might want to capture it and harvest its venom. I've also ordered one of ramshackle games changed slave girls, but need to think of what #5 will be. | |

marker use a 60mm base and are impassable terrain, the center marker is flat and doesn’t block line of sight, the players can use every shape they want for the markers they place, as long as it doesn’t overlap the base significantly I know a lot of you aren't a fan of these rumours but this possibility does defo slant the way that I would go about my objective markers. Are we really legally going to be able to model for advantage on our objectives? They'd easily put a Venom hull down. Anyone thought of the Altar of Khaine from the Dark Elf range would work well as an objective?

Meh. I like the idea of Khaine worship surviving amongst the Dark Eldar, but a physical statue representing an Eldar-like body of the Bloody Handed One? That seems out of character to me. Fragments of a fallen Avatar as a trophy, or a large statue of an Incubus helmet or Klaive representing Khaine symbolically might fit, but not the Dark Elf Altar of Khaine.

| For Eldar? Yes.
If new objectives should be on 60mm base then I'm taking my 50x150mm pillars. Or out door torture chamber. Or beer stall. Or pole dance stage. Or out door torture chamber AND beer stall AND pole dance stage. Or... [Now Local_Ork brain overheats from ammount of possibilities]
Soooo many good ideas. Me like big base.

| 60mm, that's stupidly huge. We use 40s where I come from.
And to make them impassable and able to block LOS is equally stupid. As if modeling for advantage wasn't rampant and bad enough.
If 6th ends up anything like they say I'm going to Privateer Press and Mantic. (or just going back to playing 4th with my 3.5 Chaos lol)

| Yeah... If 6th is really what the rumors say, I agree with Baron to a degree. I'll be sticking with 5th edition or finding a new system until 7th comes out. | |

| meh, remember that at this stage, 80% of those rumors are false, or mis-interpretted/read.
Remember the first DE rumors, we were supposed to have a character that could take over other characters.
But 60mm objectives does sound ridiculously large, I think we have terrain pieces smaller. Most people have used the 40mm as the defacto standard, and even if GW tries to dictate that in the rules, You'll find that most tournaments and casual games will fall back to the 40mm.

| When I finally get round to making some objective marker's, the first thing I intend to create is a tree made of human bodies a la 300. That scene in the movie really stood out to me as a particularly Dark Eldar thing to do (ie stitching an entire planetary population into a tree! ) Of course, no self respecting Archon is going to want his art ruined by the planet's saviours - better to turn them into "materials" too! | |

| "My lord, I have created my greatest work yet and I make it available to you for such a small price. All I ask is for the left leg of Canoness Sophia"
Duke Sliscus glanced back at the grim faced Haemonculus, it was a good deal but the left leg was his favourite, he didn't have a Canoness's left leg, oh all the things he could do with that leg; a new scarf perhaps or a pair of boots, no he'd listen to what the dread skin doctor had to say, no, he'd take the deal....
"Oh mighty Serpent, I gift you my latest work. It is a keyboard made from fingertip shavings of every firstborn of Castarnn V. And with this mighty keyboard...... you can.... NECRO THREADS!"
Oooooops necro thread time! So, I'm looking at objective markers again but only on terminator bases. Any fresh ideas?

| I had a few ideas while reading this animated Grotesques of a thread... most of these have a more Haemonculi-slant to them, but can be adapted...
-The pile of bodies from a Corpse Cart cut to fit the base size of choice... -Several cannisters of choice combat drugs... -A "downed" Haemonculi that must be recovered... or parts of him, at least... -A "downed" commander of an enemy force. Valuable as a slave/trophy/parts... -Damaged/Wrecked Talos. The Haemonculi wants his favorite pet back, and will pay handsomely for it (Or it's remains)
