I'm a little fuzzy about how Enhanced Aether Sails jive with the current rules. Hopefully someone can clears these points up.

1. If I move at combat speed, and then move the additional Aether Sail move amount, does my vehicle still count as having moved at combat speed?

2. If I move at cruising speed and have Aerial Assault, can I still fire all my weapons?

Combat speed means movement up to 6 inches, even for fast skimmers. So, no.

Again, cruising speed is defined as between 6 and 12 inches. Aerial Assault only applies to the ballistic skill, not the amount of weapons, so that stays two.

I'd suggest only using the Enhanced Aethersails when moving flat out. Why go 6 plus 2D6 (combat speed plus sails) instead of a surefire 18 (flat out)?

Aerial assault means you can fire all your weapons at full ballistic skill when moving at cruising speed, 6-12 inches.
So ravagers can move 12 and fire all 3 lances at normal ballistic skill.
If you move further than 12 inches using aethersails or going flat out you cannot fire your weapons.
They removed it from the flyers so we couldn't fire all the missiles etc.

That said, you can't fire when you use Enhanced Aether sails anyway, so it doesn't actually matter if you've used cruise or combat speed in the first place does it?

Exactly, hence my suggestion not using the sails unless you're going flat out anyway. Deathstar units you want to get into assault ASAP? Sure. A splinterfiring gunboat full of Kabalites? Not so much.

I was looking more at the FW Reaper since it comes standard with Enhanced Aether Sails.

Also,

Poison weapons are classified as defensive, aka Splinter weapons, so do they count towards the weapon movement count cap?

I ran a squad of 7 Grots and an Archon in a Tantalus equipped with the EtherSails tonight in a game against Tau.
And it was amazing...

As a Grot delivery system the AE are a win!

No such thing as defensive weapons in 6th edition.
