Tiri Rana's guide to magnetizing … everything!

Introduction

Welcome to my great guide to magnetizing, as the title says, everything.
I'll try to talk about methods and problems of working with magnets and approaches to cope with those problems.
And I'll try to cover all our models in a simple step by step tutorial fitted for beginners and advanced persons alike.

As some may have noticed, I took some time to post the second guide. I'm currently working until 7 pm every day, so my actual free time is rather spare. I'll try to add the next part sooner, but as it goes I can't guarantee anything.

At the moment I'm not to happy with part one and how it is written, but I'm not too sure, how to improve on it, without describing how to actually drill a hole or apply super glue, so comments and criticism are very welcome.

Finally some explanations.
Difficulty: How hard I think a certain conversion is to pull off.
* Beginner: Easy to do, involves very little drilling with high tolerances and easy to put in magnets.
** Easy: A little bit more complicated, involves more drilling, smaller tolerances or fiddly magnets.
*** Medium: Involves a combination of the ones above.
**** Hard: Involves multiple hard to align magnets, the use of green stuff, wire or tin sheets.
***** Expert: Involves all of the above and/or very frustrating magnet positions.

Material: An overview of the materials used up by this conversion. Tools like drills and glue not included.
