| There is a blurb on the GW website about whats in the Iyanden book. Here is a quote from it with some interesting information if you want a wraith theme force.
"Using the rules in Codex Iyanden allows you, for example, to take a Wraithknight as your Warlord. If that's not a fearsome prospect for your opponents to face then I don't know what is. There are also Iyanden-specific Warlord traits and the option to take a council of Spiritseers"
If you just want to ally in a wraith knight for some reason this seems like an easy way to do it by satisfying the HQ requirement.

| Also notice in the video they say that it is the first in a new wave of supplements. I'm looking forward the one that lets me unleash the swordwind scorpions as troop anyone? I'm guessing the next one will be a Black Templar supplement for space marines though. The SM codex is the next one out right? | |

| Well, since I have the privilege of working in a game store, I will be able to actually page through the book without necessarily having to buy it - two codices in a single month is a bit too much. Hopefully there's some interesting stuff there and that it doesn't interfere with the main book too much - I am a bit choosy on what to take for how I imagine my own Craftworld Nemirath to fight.
Wraithknight as a Warlord is a bit silly, though.

| 5 spiritseers as 1 HQ?!
So a new series of codex's, Iyanden is one of the great ones even if I dont like the color scheme, I hope they do Altansar, it is my favorite, but its most likely they will do the craftworlds on pages 14-16.

| You know, I actually think this Iyanden supplement has the opportunity to be amazing.
Variant army list, special characters, new units, warlord traits, scenarios, battle missions, more fluff, stratagems.
Could be awesome.
Now if GW will just listen to my pitch for Codex: Sky Serpents.....

| I'm wondering how well this book will be put together. The new codexes are beautiful in my opinion and really hope it feels like a full codex and not just an extra army list and new rules. I know its going to be hardcover and that is keeping me hopefull, but still with that nerf from 10 to 5 Dire Avengers in a box also a bit nervous as this books seems like it could be very cool. Maybe we will get lucky and see a Dark Eldar supplement; I'd love to see them expand on Coven Constructs and giant Beastmaster monsters. Any word on what the price is going to be on the Codex Iyanden? | |

A $40 supplement that you need a $50 codex to use? No thanks!

| Seems cool. I know many craftworld players are strongly dedicated to theme of the established craftworlds, and any rules that help facilitate that are always greatly appreciated by those who run strictly themed lists.

| I called GW Customer Service to ask this question as I was curious about it before purchasing this book:
Q: How does the new Iyanden codex work with the allies system?
A: They act the same way as the Eldar work.
Just in case anyone else was wondering that bit of info.

| Yeah it only change the warlord powers, the battle focus primaris, let you take a shadow concil (5 spirirt seers) and give you an alternate special wargear list (about 2-3 pages of rules). | |

| The Wraithknight stays a heavy choice but can be picked as your Warlord. T8 warlord isn't bad I suppose... | |

| Does anyone know if you can have a Wraithlord HQ and WG troops without needing a Spiritseer? | |

No, as the book does not allow Wraithlords or Wraithknights to be taken as HQs, it only allows them to be the army's warlord (they are still taken from the heavy support slot). So you are still required to field a HQ to fulfil your mandatory HQ choice.

| Here's Iyanden's warlords and items chart: Please don't post lists of wargear and army rules, it's against forum rules, as it infringes on GW intellectual property. Thanks - Mush | |
