Hey everyone!
I'm not only new to DE, but 40k as well. I have a general understanding of the game, but needless to say I'm having a bit of trouble putting a list together. I'm using only models that I own, so working within that parameter is making it a bit easier...sort of. silent I'm aiming for a Coven-heavy theme but I'm still working out fluff for what I have. I've lurked in the tactics area and had a few peeks at the beginner's guides, which are totally helpful.

Anyway, here goes. Any help is very appreciated!

HQ:
Archon w/ Huskblade (such a cool weapon idea!), Blast Pistol, Combat Drugs, and Shadow Field.
Haemonculus w/ Webway Portal
Haemonculus (Unsure how to equip these guys.)

Troops:
5 Wracks w/ a Liquifier Gun in a Raider w/ Grisly Trophies and a Flickerfield (Haemo here)
8 Wyches w/ Shardnet and Impaler, Hekatrix w/ Agoniser in a Raider w/ Flickerfield (Ditto)
9 Wyches (Hydra gauntlet) + Hekatrix w/ Agoniser and Phantasm Grenades (These would come through the portal)

Elite:
4 Incubi in a Venom (with the Archon)

Fast Attack:
5 Scourges, 1 w/ Haywire Blaster
Beastmaster w/ 4 Khymerae

Heavy Support:
Cronos w/ Spirit Probe and Spirit Vortex
Ravager w/ FF and Dark Lances
Ravager w/ FF and Dark Lances (Disintegrator Cannon instead?)

Probably nowhere near an optimal setup, I'm sure. Laughing I still have about 29 points to play with and I'm unsure what to do with them- I imagine my Haemos need a couple pieces of equipment. Phantasm Grenades on the Archon? No idea.

Doesnt look bad...here is what I would do

HQ: Get rid of the blaster pistol & take phantasm launcher & maybe soul trap to go along with the HB. Give the Haem thats going with the wracks a liquifier so you have 2 in that unit

TROOP: wracks are fine only thing is the grisly trophies, I personally can do without the extra trinkets in my already expensive paper planes. keep the FF. Now something that you will learn is that wyches arent as offensive as you may think as they excel in bogging down the enemies toughest unit with their 4++ adding the Haem for the token is excellent. but theres 2 things Ive learned: 1 is 7 wyches w/ haem is more than enough to get the job done & 2nd agonizer on wyches isnt great for a number of reasons mostly because the +1 strength that you can get with combat drugz (or furious charge) makes it useless & nothing is worse than facing IG, Eldar & Deamons & barely killing 1 guy..Id rather spend the points differently... so remove both agonizers & give them power weapons instead & with the extra 20pts add another wych with hydra guantlets to make the web riding gals 10 strong. (add haywire grenades..you'll thank me later)

Elites: now this section I can write about forever... Ill just leave it as as

Fast Attack: 1 beast master will die horribly along with his pack of beasts. if you dont have 2 minimum dont bother taking them. I always take 3: 1 with max khym & 2 with max flocks. a 2nd haywire is a MUST for the scourge otherwise they are usless Id probably go with x2 DL's since you really lack in anti-tank.

Heavies look good (keep the lances)

As you have already figured out he needs a phantasm grenade launcher to make your incubi more effective. You could lose the blast pistol without much problem or add a soul trap (though it can be difficult to get them to work)

You kinda need 2 portals if you are going for a webway list (as soon as your opponent gets used to portal one is easily neutralised) put the other on the archon.

I'd lose this guy he's an expensive FNP giver who will slow the wyches (haemies don't have fleet)


Troops:

It's an ok unit good for dropping the portal (it fufills all your requirements for dawn of war and is reasonably survivable)

8 Wyches w/ Shardnet and Impaler, Hekatrix w/ Agoniser in a Raider w/ Flickerfield (Ditto)
These guys could lose the raider and be another portal unit quite happily, add haywire grenades I cannot stress this enough!

9 Wyches (Hydra gauntlet) + Hekatrix w/ Agoniser and Phantasm Grenades (These would come through the portal)
Lose the phantasm (you should be charging especially coming out of a portal) add Haywires!


Elite:
4 Incubi in a Venom (with the Archon)

Not bad you could do with a second cannon on the venom though


Fast Attack:
5 Scourges, 1 w/ Haywire Blaster
second haywire blaster needed


Beastmaster w/ 4 Khymerae
Yeah bit of a meh unit add at least one more beastmaster and 2 flocks and it starts to become viable (add 3 and 6 flocks and it becomes downright scary).


Heavy Support:
Cronos w/ Spirit Probe and Spirit Vortex
Good unit for WWP lists

Ravager w/ FF and Dark Lances
Ravager w/ FF and Dark Lances (Disintegrator Cannon instead?)
Good units industry standard ( and as you have little ranged anti-tank I'd keep the dark lances)

Welcome to the Dark City, 40k and Dark Eldar, DE are a tricky army to master but perseverance and thinking ahead can turn them into one of the best armies out there.

I have to disagree with TSD on the Heamon in Wych units... They need the FNP if riding in the raider to gaurd vs an explosion & he can always remain in the Raider while the wyches disembark thus being able to fleet & take his pain token with them (Thats how I roll)

I think 1 wwp is pefect for this list as it only has 2 units that can make use of it...adding a 3rd foot slogger unit will only limit its (the list) affectivness.

& yes you can do without the PGL on the big unit of wyches & add an extrs splkinter cannon on the venom.
