| Actualy it's hard for me to beleive it but... I played like 12 games with reavers so far, and didn'thad a problem with that, but today my opponent actualy wanted me to explain to him exactly one thing. And well, I couldn't back up my reasoning with BRB soo... How do we exactly measure LOS and shooting to the jetbikes?
Since jetbikes have base, and are not mech, it seems obvious that shooting is measured to their base, and not the model itself. By this meaning, so far I played like if you can't shoot at them, if you can't trace a line to their base, even if the model itself is sticking partialy out from behind BLOS object, while its base is still fully covered.
But if it's behind let's say raider, don't they actualy can trace LOS to the jetbike if they can see a base and a model itself through raiders sail attachment?

| Page 8 really sums this up for you - line of sight is drawn to the model, not to the base. There is actually no point in any rule involving the need to see the base to fire, and the only way bases might matter is versus a template or blast weapon. Now, if you really wanted to game the rules, you could point out that they (officially) need to see the rider (as you target heads, torsos, arms, and legs - not the jetbike body...then again, if I actually ever wanted to argue this I'd start playing Tzeentch right away and field my untargetable army ). That said, I think it's pretty clear that the body of the bike is included in the legit targeting points of a jetbike model. As a random note that somewhat address your last point, if they can see the base, but not the model (by, say, being behind a Raider, or due to angle) they cannot target you and shoot. | |
