First 40k list ever 1500 pts

Hi, there. This is my first post on the forum, and the first list I've created for playing at my local store. I'd appreciate any comments, since I'm trying to create a list for my first 40k game ever. I've been painting (mainly), collecting, and even playing some WFB games for the last, I don't know, 15 years? But never in that time gotten to playing 40k... A shame, perhaps, but I finally have enough time and models to do it.

It's a rougly 1500 pts list, with which I know I'd be facing mainly space marines, csm, nids, some necrons and some orks. Not that many eldar, ig or tau players around, and definitely no de players.

1 x (5) Wyches + haywire + venom + splinter cannon [125 pts]
1 x ( Wyches + Hekatrix (Agonizer, PGL) + Shardnet/Impaler + Raider (Dis.cannon, Flickerfield) [190]
EL:
1 x (4) Blasterborn + Venom + Splinter Cannon [173]
1 x (3) Splinterborn (2 Splinter C., 1 Splinter rifle) + Venom + Splinter Cannon [121]
1 x (5) Incubi + Klaivex + Venom + Splinter Cannon [190]
FA:
1 x (6) Reavers + 2 Heat Lances [156]
HS:
1 x Ravager [105]
1 x Ravager (Dis. Cannons) [105]
1 x Voidraven Bomber + Flickerfield [155]
HQ:
1 x Succubus + Electrocorrosive Whip [85]
1 x Heamonculus + Liq. Gun [80]

So, both Succubus and Haemonculus go with 8 Wyches into a Raider, then, before assaulting, split, leaving Wyches + Succub with a pain token and the Haemonculus w Liq. Gun in the raider.
In terms of anti-air, there's the Voidraven. In terms of AT, there's Blasterborn, one Ravager, Reavers with 2 Heat Lances and 5 Haywire Wyches. Voidraven can assist in that. Anti-infantry-wise, there are a lot of poisoned shots from Splinterborn, and from all three Venoms, there are Incubi for dealing with power armour especially, one Ravager for the same thing, and Wyches with Succubus in a Raider (also, 6 Reavers can do quite well, I believe).

What do You, more experienced players have to say?

Oh, and i still have 15 pts left, I believe, perhaps a Flickerfield for one Ravager?

Throwing yourself in the deep end starting with Dark Eldar

I see you got the memo about Venom Spam, though my main concern with this is you only having 2 troop choices, and easy to kill ones at that. This means that in most cases you're aiming for boardwipe to win games. You need Troops choices to score in 5 out of 6 of the missions.

Also, never underestimate the Hex Rifle on the Haemonculus.

I like your list starting off, I would suggest switching out your succubus' whip with something else, maybe an agonizer or if you want to go cheap with it a Power spear, though others would suggest a power axe.

I will also agree with Warptime's troop suggestion but only because I run as many troops as I can get my hands on. I would like to see what you think of your list as you develop it.

I don't know much about cult units, but the Elites and Heavy Supports seem solid! and the haemonculus is never bad with that 5 Pt venomblade -2+ Poison? YESHH!!!-

First, why DE? Because they look awesome, and especially so the Wyches and Trueborn/Warriors - that's the reason I'm taking them, instead of Coven models. And frankly, I can't wait to see the looks on the faces of those space marines players when I assemble my splendid looking host before their eyes  
I don't mind DE to be more demanding in terms of play, loosing or winning, I'm sure I'll have fun anyway.

As to the small number of scoring units - yes, I'm just not accustomed to the idea of holding objectives (having played so much WFB in the olden days) - so taking your advice, I'm considering the following:

- removing the Haemonculus (yes, my mistake, it should be 65 points, instead of 80, but anyway), and still having those 15 free points, that gives me 95,
- swapping the Agoniser on Hekatrix for a Power Lance, that's another 10 points
- and for those 105 points I could take 5 Warriors in a Venom, if I could only shave off 5 more points somewhere, to give it an upgrade...

What do you think?

They ARE rather pretty...

Also, good move. I find that for most armies, a scoring unit per 500 points is a good general rule.
