| Overall it is fairly clean and neat looking. I get the time crunch so I'm not critical given those conditions.
What I'm not clear on is did you drybrush on the venoms or is the paint not evenly coated. it looks like there is a tiny bit of pink on them here and there.
I would like to see urien a little cleaner than he is, on the skin in particular the face. its a great classic model and skin looks kind of rough. I thin it would be good to go back over this when you have some time.
I also think that if you did the red blister/gems on the venoms in a darker red with a touch or red highlight long the base, similar to a gem, would really add some pop to them.
But overall, nice clean effect that will be solid looking n the table top.
Please keep it up! | |

| Yes it's drybrushing on the venoms, for some reason the camera make the pink look more vivid, crappy lighting doesn't help.
Re the skin I was having issues with that paint, even thinned it was drying way too quickly so yes it is rough sadly. Re the face I painted the second skin silver as I thought a face mask might look good - but it's looking washed out in the photo. I'll take some more when I have daylight and you can see better then.
I wondered about the jewel bits, I may go back and redo them, but I have so many over all the models, it'll take a while plus not all are red, on the right they are green (like on ships, red is left (port) green is right (starboard), so would need some good way of getting a nice effect that works for both colours.
Taking a little break from DE for a few weeks, but then I have lots to do for the Apoc game.

| Here's a couple more items that I wrapped up last night, before I cleared the painting table to work on some other things for a few days. a hideous warp beast.... an objective... | |

| The Warp beast is hideous. LOL and they are dirt cheap on ebay. Compared to the new ones they are a deal and a half.
its funny, the beast reminds of a monster you might have seen on the old TV series "Lost in Space" or Star Trek. Nice classic look.
I'm really liking the objective. it seems quite appropriate.

| Some more WIPs Both need more greenstuff, but I didn't make enough up to do all three things that I was working on, so these two were incomplete: Wrack: Ghoul Arm and torso, High Elf Archer legs, Wych arm and head, old DE warrior knife I'm making 10 in this style to split 5 and 5 with the 10 Finecast ones I have as I find the Finecast poses to be a bit repetative to make a full unit of 10. Grotesque (to go with my Paulson and GW ones to make a 5 man squad) Head and opposing finger blade spares from the Paulson kit, body is a IoB Rat Ogre sans head and tail and some details removed/altered.

| I like the grotesque. I am not so sure about the wrack. I think the clean skirt/robe is bugging me. Maybe some chains and hooks?? I would like to see them both painted, hint hint. | |

| This weekend gone, was my get stuff done time. My flat was full of boxes and my desk full of half done projects. First off was to clear some of the scenery projects, which have all been progressed, see my Orky terrain thread, and after that do some DE stuff which had backlogged. Since these boxes were on the painting table, they got opened and done but took a while. I had to resculpt the dripp ing venom on the blade from one, and add a finger to the Grotesque, whilst filling landraider sized gaps in the torso, plus airbubbles. The GW Grot is horrid to build, save yourself time effort and money, go with Paulson or convert Ratogres! | Oh, I love the rat-ogre grotesque! Actually looks better than the real models! Also, using those, you don't have to have grotes' with identical bodies and poses (something that REALLY dissapointed me...). | |

| Thanks, have you seen Gobsmakked's ones though? Those are much better! The monopose GW thing really bugged me too, hence why I only have one to use as squad leader upgrade, but now I wish I just taken the Ichor injector from the Talos and stuck it on one of the other models, the GW one is a pain to build and in Finecast, poorly made. | |

| Absolutely nothing wrong with your ROG. I've also got some with little more than a helmet swap, but that's the beauty of them, it doesn't take much at all to make really nice Grots with them. | |

| thanks, I think the best thing they look good and a whole squad is less than the one GW one - which you can see from what I'd posted above it was a pain to build, and looks rough when done. (I'll get the last cleaning up done tonight and add the other arm). Still having to sculpt a finger, and the venom drips really pushed my skills - those things are tiny! | |

| I just found out last night, that despite there being 8 holes on the body for blades...you only get 6, and you are supposed to fill 2 of the holes...what a PITA! | |

| haha victory over Forgeworld! Since they were cheapskates when making the Raven, and used parts from the Raider and the jetbikes, I've found I can make 2 extra blades for the Raven from a set of old jetbike blades! More pictures soon, plus I painted an extra squad of Kabalites over the weekend! Digging through my parts bin I found I can make another 4 squads of Kabalites! | |

| Nice one - though, I'd say you should replace the weapons (is it SC:s or DL:s?) with proper ones, don't you think? | |

| Those are Dark Lances - given most of my Raider fleet is the old models, those actually match! | |

| I love Drazhar, easily my favourite of the old models, and you can see where they got the inspiration for the new Incubi helmets with the horns (I know some people don't like them, but I do). I'm thinking about including Drazhar myself, but want to wait and see if they bring out a new sculpt themselves before I try fiddling one together! | |

| Looks like I didn't finish his mask LOL! Missed the white on the grill after the wash - something to fix tonight.
I had to rebuild his right hand and the sword's guard as it was completely miscast - pretty pleased with how that turned out.
