Hello there. I joined the site about 9 months ago (haven't been very active) when I began to first delve into making plans for a Dark Eldar Army. I've been playing 40k for almost 5 years now, and I've always been a Chaos Player. However, ever since the Dark Eldar Codex was rewritten at the end of 5th, I'd always secretly desired to own and play one. Today, I finally have begun the first steps at building my own!
A good friend of mine bought some Craftworld Eldar to go alongside his younger brother's Dark Eldar when he first began to show interest. However, his brother never showed an interest beyond his first expeditions into the game, those Dark Eldar began to collect dust. My friend recently sold those very Dark Eldar to me in hopes they would be able to fulfill their purpose and contribute to the cruel economy of our Dark City.
Hopefully this holiday season will allow me to build up my forces and I'll have a chance to stage some Realspace raids of my own.
For now, I own a decent collection (which will take some refurbishing/personalizing) to start with.
So far I've got:
2 Archons
1 Unbuilt Sslyth
1 Urien Rakarth
20 Kabalites
10 Wyches (and 10 more on Sprue.)
1 Raider
1 Razorwing Jetfighter
1 Chronos Pain Engine
5 Scourges
5 Mandrakes (a finecast disaster, may need to sacrifice them for bitz sadly. Its that bad...)
6 Reaver Jetbikes
and hopefully some more stuff on the way
I plan to add a Tantalus and a Reaper to my collection after the new year. As the Tantalus is why the whole driving factor behind my desire to have Dark Eldar. Not only do I love the fluff, I love the play style, the models (Oh how I love converting and modeling), the exciting intrigue of their story, but I just absolutely love their vehicles. The Tantalus is a masterpiece, and I must have one for my centerpiece
Anyways, a little bit more about me. I am an aspiring author and an avid video gamer. I've been playing games for almost half my life now and I have no plans to stop now. I've been playing 40k for about 5 years. I picked the hobby up not long before I had a bad accident which left me bedridden for a while. It gave me something to do while I was stuck inside and my best friend had gotten into it with me (it was his idea, as a family friend of theirs has been playing almost since the game was first out.) He was a Space Marine loyalist, and I went directly to Chaos. All hail the Spiky Bitz! But with time, I think my true love has turned out to be the Lithe and Deadly Xenos of the Webway. I've never been so excited to start an army before. And I've never wanted to play an army so bad either.
I plan to start with the good Duke Sliscus as my Leader. Once I've got a Low Orbit raiding party together headed by the man himself, I believe I will work to build myself a mighty Wych Coven and a proud Kabal to work alongside them led by Lady Malys. I've always thought the two of them would get along so well, Him being an Exile, and her being the scorned lover of none other than Asdrubael Vect himself.
Anyways, I'm sure I've prattled on long enough. But that's a little bit about me and my plans for my army as well as my interests within the Codex itself. I'm really glad to find a home here in The Dark City, and I'm quite glad to be in good company as well. I'll do what I can to stay somewhat active. I'm not much of a forumer, but I do love reading and learning more about the hobby. I look forward to meeting you folks and making your acquaintances.
