Nice little place you got here....

Hello you bunch of bad eggs... errmm I mean elves.

Im The Yak. Previously a life long servant of the Emperor and all things human, I recently have had my goody goody two shoes head turned by the smexy shapes of the splinter spitting Dark Kin.

Now I know all you DE-VETS will be cringing with what you may call the "Band Wagon Jumpers" that always turn up when a new codex arrives on the scene. However one of the reasons I decided to make the switch is because of all the negativity and internet rage that has been spreading about the net due to the imminent release. I like an army that when you tell someone in a GW store you play it they roll their dull little eyes at you and tell you that "Nobody plays them" or "Who?"

For me its all about creativity and theme. Yes I like to play and I am fortunate that my own small gaming group is made up of similar minds. Campaigns and fluff are why we play, not to all out crush the life and soul out of someone. As you Dark Kin will be aware there are far more satisfying and pleasurable ways of crushing the life and soul out of something then beating it in a game of toy soldiers.

Anyway enough ramble from me (you will soon get used to it )

I got myself one of the old battleforce boxes for £48 from Darksphere and have been impressed with the sculpts and variety on the sprues. I have got a loose scheme and a few ideas for themes and Kabal names but nothing set in stone as yet. I will be searching for inspiration here to help me

Just like to say that this seems a friendly place (for the Darkest Depraved place in the galaxy mind) with all the users being respectful to one another, so thumbs up for that.

What is the score with Avatars. I put one up yesterday and its gone now. Is this because it was a GW image (it was the DE from the cover of Path of the Renegade)? No problem if this is the case. Or is it because I am a Slave and we are not allowed them? Which, if is the case I think is a great touch!!! (your a slave and you want a picture on the wall? Get a grip!). Or most likely it was too big an image with too many of those pixly things and it is the fault of my own innate buffoonery that the image was removed!!!

Young Alino's advice shows true wisdom at this time of great upheaval. Bury yourself in project logs. Especially Evil's one, all 40 pages. Don't come out til the dust settles. And when you emerge, blinking, into the blinding dawn of a new chapter in Dark Eldar civilisation, you'll have the inspiration you need to carry your Kabal to the highest spires of the new order!!

Another piece of advice I forgot to add - Once you start painting, if you have multiple color schemes in mind use a box of warriors to test each one out on.

There is much rage around at the moment, but when that has subsided and all the toys are back in the prams, things can get back to normal in what I have found to be the most supportive, welcoming and constructive online community. Welcome!

Yes I see its a bit tetchy all over the place with the new rumours. It would be an ideal opportunity for me to make some fresh enemies though (evil grin).

I usually stay out of any rumours/tactics discussion anyway, its a sure fire way of getting your head ripped off just for asking a mildly facetious question....

Im going to dive into those plogs with relish though. Hopefully there will still be some people left when its all over....

I wasn't aware we ever got enough bandwagon jumpers to turn our noses up at them.
I suppose I'll start though.

Firstly, turning my nose up at everyone who started playing with that first new-fangled 'revised edition' codex. Whippersnappers! Always wanting their precious "vehicle upgrades" and such like.

I tried to jump on the bandwagon once, but I mistimed it. Got my legs crushed pretty badly, laughing stock of the Haemonculi for weeks afterwards.
