| In the rulebook it states "A unit may charge a building as if it were a vehicle." What I am proposing is that instead of running during movement phase charge a building instead because especially with fleet we have a chance of getting double the run distance normally allowed you could also do this with beasts or wracks and charge empty ruins therefore getting yourself into cover. One drawback is if you don't make the distance you waste a possible run move, but personally it is a risk i'm willing to take.
It seems like a dirty tactic but might be viable.
Any opinions on this tactic/ any experience using it?

| I think by "charge a building" it means a paid for building, like a fortification, not just any piece of terrain. | |

| I read around and im pretty sure its not only fortifications because it talks about armour values of ruins, houses and outposts which are not fortifications | |

| Well, ruins are not buildings. But actual buildings you can charge, yeah. | |

| dim dark alarm bells ringing for some reason...vague memory says you can't attack unoccupied buildings. probably isn't accurate but worth checking! | |

| Stronghold Assault changed the rules about that so I think you could in fact assault an unoccupied building claimed by one of the players (basically, anything paid for by a player). | |

| Only certain buildings can be charged when unoccupied. If there's an occupy-able building on the table (that wasn't a paid fortification for simplicity's sake) that is not occupied, it cannot be charged nor fired at unless it's occupied. Also, you can still only charge what you can harm and a LOT of buildings are deemed AV14 which a number of our troops can't harm in close combat.
Now if I'm playing against someone who is using a Firestorm Redoubt or a Vengeance Weapon Battery, these explicitly state that they can be fired and charged when unoccupied and thus are fair game. Though with the FIrestorm, it'd be better to occupy it and claim is for yourself than charge it. VWB's are AV14 and cannot be occupied (and thus claimed by an opponent) so feel free to charge it if you think you can hurt an AV14 building.

| Could be useful for Wyches with Haywire. A 2d6 rerollable charge move will be better than a 1d6 rerollable run move as long as you can reach the target building. | |
