Hi everyone!

I'm new to Dark Eldar but have played and owned a number of armies over roughly a decade. The reputation with the codex is that it's one of the hardest to play, and profoundly unforgiving -- perfect for training my 40k strategic, tactical and intellectual gaming skills! Twisted Evil 

So my question: what's the gist of the Dark Eldar strategy? From what I understand it goes something like this:
- Hit hard and fast
- Can deal out a whole lot of hurt
- Can't survive very long; very fragile

After looking over the codex, that seems to be the case -- BUT THE PAIN IT CAN DISH OUT!!! WOW!!! I'M IMPRESSED!!! I started out as a Tyranid player, then moved to Imperial Guard back when they were still -- in my opinion -- one of the worst codices possible... either 3rd or 4th edition, so my foundational understanding of 40k is always to expect very little from the stat-line of my units, so when I see a Kabalite Warrior with BS4 and a blaster in her hand -- I just feel like, WOW!!! affraid I'm speechless!

In any case, I decided to create the most 'broken' army list possible, because that's how my friends and I do things in our little gaming group. Please let me know the general strategic/tactical gist (and units you field) that help you win games, and if you feel so inclined, I'd appreciate feedback on my list which is posted ---> here.

..also.. people have always told me how HORRIBLE the Dark Eldar are.. but they don't seem to be that bad at all.. or maybe it's because I'm looking at what wins tournaments? I don't know.. they seem pretty good to me! I just wish there was more online support for them

I'm sure people will disagree but I am going to go through each slot and say what units I like and why. For troops wyches with HWG for anti tank and warriors for anti troop (or wracks for cheap venoms)
Baron, you are fragile +1 to go first rocks, stick him with beast masters to do some cc or a unit of kabalites for stealth.
Hammy, crucible is great anti psycher (im looking at you seer council) also liquifier and the flamer that removes models on toughnes is good.

The best elite is trueborn with splinter cannons or blastes in a venom.
wracks are only good as troops.

Reavers are amazing, i like them in squads of 6 with heat lances.
BM only like one squad with baron.

3x ravagers and heavy is done.

Sadly to play competative with DE you will often spam units. I paticularly think venom spam is the best DE list, so taking 3x ravagers for anti tank then reavers/HWG wyches until anti tank is done, and filling out with as much splinter on trueborn and venoms as i can fit. Also I REALLY like NS as you can make sure you can hit your opponant without getting hit back. Positioning is key with DE and one bad move can cost you. They are tough to play, and have one of the largest gaps between good and bad players out of any army.
