"Our System has detected suspicious activity"

Hey guys - tried to log on today and got hit with something called Online Guardian telling me that "Our system has detected suspicious activity related to your account or your computer" and directed me to a form where I had to put in my username and do a captcha thing, which I did and it unlocked my account. Not had anything delivered to my email and I'm running a virus scan as I type this, just wondering if you could clue me in on specifics and let me know if I should be worried! Thanks

A little worried.... In all my years of surfs the digital waves I've only ever encountered such things being related to spyware or phishing (wow I haven't used that term in forever) just keep a cautious and watchful eye on your email address and other online accounts.

Checked my email and nothing seems untoward, and a full virus scan has shown nothing of note on the machine - I'm hoping/assuming it's nothing untoward!

Online Guardian is a parental control software. It is also an anti-spam software that Forumotion uses to help safeguard its member forums.

Apparently it is not perfect(!), and can from time to time block people from entering their forums. If it let you in after entering your info in the form, then I think you should be fine. I can't be 100% sure, but it is not an uncommon problem.

Thanks Gobsmakked . I've done a virus-scan and nothing turned up on my PC, and there's been no red flags on either my email account or any of my other forum/whatever accounts associated with the same email, so I'm going to assume it's all good!
