Assembly for painting, Infantry edition

My fellow Archons, i pose a question about what to do with some unruly warriors and Scourges that i have. Im in the process of building them, and im wondering what most people do with the infantry figures who have rifles slung across the fronts. Do you go with a full build, let anything that is covered be forfeit, or do you leave the right arm off, paint it separately and get to everything on the model that you intend to? Im not exactly sure which route will be the best way to go at the moment.

Both ways are ok, if you glue rifle from the start however you wont be able to paint its backside. Not that its needed much, it wont be visible anyway.

However there is a slight advantage of painting unglued, that will allow you do a batch painting of all your rifles and hands. Quite handy if you use airbrush for example.

I found that applying source lighting is a lot easier when it is assembled before painting, since it is easier to determine where to dry brush for the glow. Although the actual spot is sometimes harder to reach
