Is the Dark Eldar BattleForce worth it?

I've been wanting to get into Dark Eldar for a while now, and after looking at several tacticas and such I've been wondering: is the battleforce worth it? For those of you who don't know the contents I'll save you the time of going to the GW site

10 Kabalite Warriors
10 Wyches
3 Jetbikes
1 Raider

Is it worth the money or Would I be better of spending the money on different units?

I would say yes. If you are just starting a Dark Eldar army it is. You have 2 core units, Reaver jet bikes and the standard Dedicated transport. It's a good starting point. Things to consider:

Kabalite Warriors can function also as Trueborn (if you flair them up a bit).
Wyches can function as Blood Brides (if you flair them up a bit)
Reaver Jet bikes are awesome in 6th edition. 3 gets you a squad
Raider keeps our troops alive (somewhat). It's a peanut shell that keeps our boys and girls alive if the shell doesn't explode.

Other things to consider is technically you have 4 troop slots taken by the above contents. Each squad is 5+ models. You just need an HQ at this point (or you can proxy one from the kits above). Some LGS have discounts on costs, at least my LGS offers 20% off of all prices over 100 dollars.

Yes, sure. After it you will need an HQ, 1 or 2 transports, couple of Ravagers, box of Reavers and you are good to go.

Maybe you'd want 2 battleforces. To fill the troops need forever.

Yea its one of the better battleforces IMO get it for a discount and add in a HQ and a second transport and you have a neat little start to the army. After that another one a ravager and some venoms would get you far. As for HQ's people seem to favour the Archon...which you could build one with the kabalites warriora if u dont mind losing one warrio.

Depends on your eventual goal for the army.
You can kitbash an Archon or Succubus pretty easily from Venom passenger legs and other bits in that same battleforce box.

Incidentally, I think the battleforce is an excellent starter deal. Unlike a lot of the others, the DE one contains no chaff.

The other optimal starting HQ is the Haem.

As with most armies, I would suggest getting two of the battleforce plus a couple more transports and an HQ to get a good sized, well-rounded force quickly.

Yeah, I never bother with the gunner/pilot on the Raiders, that's free standard Kabalites right there as far as I'm concerned. They stand up a bit straight but in a way that makes them look more keen!

Also, @ $110 (usa) you are getting basically either the kabalite warriors or the wyches free as all of those models bought separately it would be around $140 or so.

It is a great battleforce but make sure you know what you want your army to be before you buy it, because you might be spending money on things you do not need. For example im starting my army right now and it does not include wyches or raiders or reavers! So im mass buying warriors venoms making a beast star and scourge. I want to buy it, i want raiders with wyches but my army isnt designed for it yet. that is something ill do in the future for fun.

Likewise , I can't even begin to fathom the money i have given to them since '95. (Not a pricing complaint btw )
