20 Game Journey - The Path of the Dark Olympiad -July12th-

Havingthe first 1500pt game tonight. I have finalized a "core" army.

The First Game of the true series was recorded 1500pts vs Eldar.

Game 2 - Olympiad vs Eldar - 1500pts

I have also played the Second Game! 1500pts Olympiad versus the Tau, Pulse Bomb list. Played a Maelstrom Mission and what a blast it was. I recorded the game it will be another battle report.

Yeah. I noticed hehe. So the dark Olympiad has played 3 main games now. The first one against eldar, second vs tau, third vs chaos. South fun, I did tweak my list a bit, only ever so slightly but it does to work.well. I shall post it up shortly.

Games 3 and 4 have been played. Game three was against a pulse bomb style tau army playing one of the new maelstrom missions, and then game 4 was against a crimson slaughter and black legion csm army that relied on summon, and typhus zombies. Stay tuned for the link and for the picture batrep for game 4.

So, I have had a few games now. This gives me a chance to do a quick overview of my unit choices and their performance in the games. Unlike other journeys I did make a change early on, making the reader unit smaller, switching a few upgrades here and there to make the list more efficient. But games against the tau and chaos were the same.

Succubus . She has performed well. I find she either dies, or does great. I still need to get used to her stats and to throw her against more varied targets to see what she can handle.

Farseer. Does what he does best, since game two, have added a Jetbike onto him and he has performed well. Perils is a lot more common now, and powers are not as efficient, but when he gets them off they have changed the game in my favour, so he is a keeper.

Two units of eight wyches in raiders. Hekatrixes have venom blades and phantasm grenade launchers. These two units have been awesome. They are the grunts, but they require finesse, I have been keeping them back two turns and then pouncing with them when.needed. have to learn not to throw them.away.

Two units of five kabalites in venoms. These function pretty much as they did in my vect army... they are a great all rounder for the army.

Three eldar Jetbikes. These are awesome, fast moving objective secured troops.

Six reaver Jetbikes. They have been great, apply pressure, turn.The game into my favour, and die horribly fast. Another unit that requires forethought, but become very menacing with the Farseer.

Eight hellions. Harassment unit. Work well.

Beastpack, five kymerae, two razorwings. Added this in, they are fast, mobile and provide an immediate threats that takes pressure off my other elements while they are a live, they are cheap and can kill things.

Ravager. This triple lance Ravager with night shields hopes to kill a tank or two before the haywire grenades get to the enemy.

Razorwing Jetfighter. Amazing in the new edition the volley of monosythe missiles is back baby!!!

Well, this is just a short review. Hope you are liking the journey so far, and are learning for. The batrep as well.

Game 3 is now live. This was the first Maelstrom Mission I have played in 7th. It was a lot of fun, faced off against the Tau. I am liking the subtle changes to the list that I made.

Game 4 was against chaos space marines and typhus zombies. And game 5 was once again against Matt and his windrider warhost.

Matt as in Eldar Corsair?

I really enjoyed the tau report as both a tau player and a prospective dark eldar player. The game really showcased 7th edition and the new maelstrom of war objectives. Really good battle reports (epic story voice too) overall, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments! I have played Eldar Corsair. But it was with my Vect army... and I few mistakes costed me dearly, I was tabled. A rematch is in order tho!

Game 6 has been played! Against another Eldar warhost, this time a very balanced but strong list. Another maelstrom mission, but this time against an opponent that can keep up with the movement.

Game 7 was played. Against the necron menace. What and intense game that was.

Just watched Game....4? Facing off against Matt's eldar. Really good battle reports, I highly enjoy them and look forward to the next one!

Played Game 8... the rubber match against Matt and his eldar swordwind army!

Thanks a lot for those brilliant battle reports. I feel that you are probably found the right format for video battle reporting. Only show what the results are of each player's turn. It's great to be able to watch a full game in 15 minutes.
Does it take a long time to edit the raw video? Because I'm sick of those integral video reports that take at least one hour.
Your voice and accent are a joy to listen to as well.
Keep up the good work and you might have gotten me back into 40k again.

I am glad you like them! I have been having a lot of fun with them. I have faltered in the journey tho and have had a few games with my regular run of the mill Kabal (for the campaign that is happening as well as a practice game for an upcoming tournament. )

Played game 9 with the Dark Olympiad vs Space Marines, what a bloody match! Lets say that the farseer really is not as guaranteed as he used to be when it comes to the buffing powers... nutz! but nevertheless LOVING the combatty goodness of the wyches.

Played Game 10 tonight. WOW, what a beating. We played a maelstrom and it was all over in like 3 turns! vs Pulse bomb tau list on a small 5 by 4 table... It almost went my way, and then my hellions got beat down by an ethereal and firewarriors in combat. ouch.

Just watched both your cast with Jay and Jay's cast. Really enjoyed both. Interesting to finally see the face behind that epically accented narration.   Great showing as always, the Dark Olympiad triumphs again. Always looking forward to the next one.
