New Wracks/Grotesques and a new unit!

According to Natfka over at Faeit DE might be getting new models for Wracks/Grotesques and a new unit.

If this is true I would be a very happy man, since firstly it might lower the price of grotesques, £15.50 per model is quite a lot when you need 3-10 of them per squad. This would also change the fact that we only get single pose minis for some of the coolest units in the army. If this is true, GW can expect me to buy at least 20 Wracks and 10 Grotesques, just to have something that can wander out of a Webway alongside 3 Pain/parasite engines.

Dang it you beat me to the punch lol. From what I've heard this seems somewhat legit, but I'll still take it with a grain of salt.

A sudden release for DE? This is almost too good to believe. I'll remain cautiously optimistic here.

Yeah, of course salt is needed. But it is enough to get my hopes up a bit at least.
According to some other thread here and around the internet, the release scheduale is Orks->BA->DE, and i guess that it might be a smart business move to have nice new models before the new codex comes. Looking at other leaked info the part where we have Orks->BA seems to be plausible, and hopefully DE is next.

I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed for it.

I suppose nit makes sense what with the move away from Finecast (huzzah). If true, should be interesting to see what the come out with.
I'll throw in a prediction: Wrack/Grotesque-like weapons platform a la Gun-Servitors.

Would be nice if true but I'm not holding my breath.

Would be so very much nice. An army of unbound grotesques!

This is what makes me think the rumour is false. We have no coven-style unit in our codex that doesn't already have models and I really can't see them introducing a new unit before a codex comes out.

Who says these aren't part of the codex release wave? Assuming a June or July release for Orks, Natfka had rumours going 4 to 5 months before (see http://natfka.blogspot.nl/2014/03/rumor-ork-codex-rules-and-releases.html

If we're going by the rumoured release schedules and a late 2014 release for DE, there's no reason for these new kits NOT to be part of that release.

As for the dual kit, they could either be Mandrakes - aside from the masks and contraptions on their backs, Wracks really are quite similar physically - or a new unit. Castigators have been mentioned.

Yeah, they'll probably get the Fear USR and a 10 point increase. That ought to do it (in GW's head).

What better way to charge twice as much for 5 wracks than to include a secondary option nobody wants?

If anything I would be a little excited about the grotesques. Mainly because if packaged as a unit we'd probably see all their weapon options on the sprue and a way to model your aberration (without conversions).

I haven't read into it far enough yet to be able to provide any details, but Castigators are introduced in the recent Path of the Archon novel.

Oh dear, this sounds awesome. Almost too good? I shudder at the probable cost, but if true this release is a huge step in the right direction.

"Bigger than a Grotesque, but smaller than a Talos"? There's not a lot of wiggle room in there.

One of the commenters on the Natfka article states that this week's WD will include new Apoc sheets, including one for DE. Also an overview of a new novel where an Eldar world under attack by 'Nids calls for help from their True Kin. Will be looking for reviews of that.

Sounds like it could be a bunch of "wracks" toting "hexrifles." I don't know, I want to believe this rumor. Haha. Especially the giant grot that can tear a dreadnaught in half.

EDIT: I made so much fun of the wrathknight price tag, but I'd easily pay over $100 for a giant grot. Give him a liquifier gun with an apocalypse template for giggles.

Chemical weapon unit seems like an awesome plan. I would like to see a unit of 5 liquifier or 5 Hexrifles. Maybe even a large blast or a suicide unit (Think Baneling from Starcraft).

I am going to start saving money right now to be able to either buy all this new and cool stuff, and well, if the rumor is not true i guess i can be happy that i have a stash of money

I am not disappointed in this, that would be ridiculous to say but I am not looking forward to this as much as I would have hoped as I guess my DE interest is 45% Kabalite, 45% Wych Cult, 10% Coven.

Of course, I hope that these new proposed models will be amazing and force themselves into my lists.

Would like to see Wracks move to Troops next edition.
