| We won't be the only army with three books. SM have three as well the codex and CoT and LotD supplements. | |

| I hate to tell you Bacon, but SM are the poster boys of 40k, with the Smurfs being the Elite poster boys.
There is no way one of the least popular 40k races will get more books than Eldar, CHAOS MARINES, Orks, or Tau.

| i really hope we don't get three books, we don't have the models to split the army and they already said we're not getting anything new. and with the SCs being cut out thats what? 1 SC per book? not realistic. | |

| Can we just take a breath here? There has been precisely zero solid information about whether there even is a Dark Eldar release coming soon. It is entirely rumour-based at this point in time and some of the rumours are coming from people with a pretty poor track record. There is also zero evidence to support x number of books. Again, completely based on rumour.
The rumour mill for this release has become cyclical. Faeit is posting absolutely anything that anyone sends to Nafka, BoLS is reporting it as a rumour and then Faeit is taking BoLS as confirmation of their own rumour!
I'm not saying that there isn't a DE release sometime in the near future but can we just take a step back until there is something solid to discuss?

| Indeed. Despite my wish, I still think that we might not be the next dex. First reason is that Necrons are missign on GW site, not DE. Second is that the rumourmill should be already grinding low-salt news by this time if we are indeed supposed to come out in 2-3 weeks. And third - some of the rumours come from people who apparently (based on the wordings of the rumours) have even lower knowledge of W40K than I do and I have to ask myself where the hell would such a person get precise release info...?
So despite the new dex possibility is holding my painting (and breath) at a standstill because I dont know that my current selection will make it into the new list, I am still not expecting the release within few weeks. Personally, were I GW, I would release DE around Halloween. :-)

I'll watch Nightmare before Christmas and paint at the same time!

| He's right. Printed version of codex is missing. That must mean they're this month. Which means DE could be next. | |

| Well I dont think it MUST mean that, the dex is missing for some weeks already. :-) Noone expected the Grey Knights too, the predictions were totally different, therefore I assume that GW, while shifted to weekly release, has to have several things ready to release at any given time, will try to change the release schedule to counter any rumours, thus increasing the anticipation of their products... At least thats what I would have done at this point. :-) | |

| I just know that with new codex means, especially with the rumored loss of the Duke, a few of my armies models are gonna be changed around. Might even give me the push I need to touch up / repaint some models. Whenever it comes I'll be excited to get a chance to start painting more Dark Eldar again. | |

| Looking forward to a new dex! I for one don't care too much about multiple books, I have a hard time telling the difference between dataslates, formations and supplements, let alone know what's in them or spend money on them. One codex is hard enough as is for me. I like all the freedom seventh edition gives us, but it also makes the game a lot more complicated.

| Alien invasion sounds like us if I'm honest. Necrons are always usually described in kind of 'ancient powers rise or wake from slumber' style. Though I think a great deal of confirmation bias is being enacted in my head there | |

| Whoa, this whole new DE dex thing has been a new blast for me. Having been so hotly following the Ork dex as soon as it hit i pretty much ignored the sites and was on a modelling spree. I return and apparently grey knights got a dex and DE are rumoured. However, having followed the ork dex rumours on an almost hourly basis im gona take a back seat this time. As in honesty i got so worked up and the dex is only gona come when it comes Not gona comment on the rumours much as I haven't looked any further than here and Dakka, but what I will say is: 3 books? Unlikely imo, Perhaps - As with the ork warboss ed dex, I got the dex, the supp and a art book - thats 3 books right there. However I still think thats unlikely. Most likely to me seems a dex and some formations. 3 separate books seems so stupid considering the current GW model. They have already done breaking down armies (imo) with the introduction of the old style BA books and chapters etc. The current model is a standard dex - with a few characters and all units, followed by suppliments that give the flavour. This model is a very effective model, as the standard dex is a must, but to actually play anything fun its then a further suppliment. Once you've bought a dex, your more than likely to buy atleast 1 suppliment that you like, even if you illegally DL the rest, you may end up buying the actual one you play most for tournies/guilt/stupidity. I see no reason whatsoever to change this model. its hugely profit driven which always seems to be a common trend This model also allows them to release supplements almost indefinitely (not saying they will, but they could), simply freshing up the game when it gets stale or they want to generate interest. I mean just take a look at the world in general; we're suckers for shiney things. With the orks they were releasing units before the dex even hit and people lapped it up, pre-ordering before even knowing if a unit was worthwhile (not against this, but its a good indicator that while people tend to play cheese they will still eat up shiny new things that earn lovely benchwarming spots). Final note: would be that seriously looking forward to the new dex, whatever form it comes in. Glad the rumours seem minimal (3 week release compared to the orks which was what? 8 weeks?), I like DE units and styles, updates and formation goodies are a good result As not gona lie some of the ork formations are hilariously funny and enjoyable play-style mixers. EDIT: Oh I forgot, I also reckon.... the dude who first suggested the supplement model received a round of applause.... no, a raise, infact a promotion.... Hell they probably made him CEO and gave him majority share... | |

It'll be a hulk full of confused orks crash landing in the middle of Lustria and punching all the dinosaurs. I'm calling it now.

| The definition of invading is "to enter forcefully". Invading is exactly what Dark Eldar do, they just don't do it with the intent of conquering. | |
