Immediate question on my lips - is that a new Haemy model or is that a new Urien sculpt? Second question - does anyone else think that we might be getting models first and then a codex, as the WD cover doesn't mention anything about a new codex?

I dont think so. The rules change for the new wracks is significant. They cannot sell them without the rules, so dex has to come IMHO.
I am getting bit worried about depoisonifying. :-) Although nothing in the novels or fluff suggest such a huuuge change. Warriors still fire splinters full of toxins, so I guess not. :-)

orks got codex in last week right? and if i remember well than SW got it on last week too, so first the minis and than the rules i guess. BTW wracks gonna get 3euro price increase, and i highly doubt we will see/use power maul wracks with 10-15pts for one anywhere else(bullgryns)

That video... are GW even trying? I could have made that in a few minutes! Oh well, at least it's open confirmation now.

I like the new twist they took on the previous slogan.

It's happened before. Things like the Gorka/Morkanaut got released before the actual codex did. There was a kind of rules preview in the release WDW for them though.

I'd expect a week or two of models with the codex and any supplement coming in the 2nd or 3rd week.

Paradoxically, a later codex would suit me slightly better. Moving at the end of the week, so the more time I have to get settled and find a gaming group before the 'dex hits, the better!

Barring a ridiculously overpowered rules change I won't be buying any more Wracks or Haems as I have plenty as it is so I'm just going to pre-order the codex from my FLGS for the moment. Of course, if there's a big shiny new kit for us I may be tempted with that too.

My main hope is for the flyers to be moved to Fast Attack, bringing them in line with the Eldar ones. Also, Vector dancer would be nice......

Maybe when wracks lose their poison we'll see wyches with poison instead?

Id' rather see wyches get a hold of ap2 weapons. cause str3 is kinda lackluster, although many attacks, they are weak though.
Shardnets, razorflails and hydra guantlets are nice but terminators laugh at these and so do space marines. AP2 will make it be like "what happened?", thats right your dead take it! man what a good feeling after losing alot of units to bolters.

I would rather go for rending on all wyches. Fits the fluff and puts the "cannon" in "Glascannon"

Of course then there's absolutely no reason to take Harlequins. Not that there's much anyway beyond them looking awesome.

I'd be far from upset if Harlequins disappeared from our Codex and turned up in a supplement. Rending is a nice solution to beefing up the Wyches damage without making them ridiculous.

Only for Grey Knights, and that's purely to supplement the dearth of available Fast Attack slots. SM and BA get it in the heavy slot. Personally I reckon that, worked correctly, a Razorwing would work well in Fast Attack, and the Void Raven in Heavy Support.

I would actually be sad to see them go. I'd much rather GW actually update them since they haven't in like six years. It's sad too because they don't even need a hard fix. Arguably incubi would still be better, but if GW just allowed them to take a dedicated transport they'd be a solid unit.

I'd be a big fan of this because then we could actually field some anti-air. Not that I want to field 6 flyers but it's better than the current state of things in that regard.

Giving rending to wyches would make sense. They need something to counter their really low S.
Harlequins though - I don't think they belong in the DE codex at all and I'd fully support their removal much like how inquisitors were removed from GK. They are their own deal and belong in a supplement or data slate.

You should read fluff. They are absolutely belonging in DE codex. It is their most important role to belong in every large Eldar group.

I was told our new codex was written by Cruddace. Can't find anything supporting that claim though.

The latest fantasy releases (Nagash, Morghasts etc) came with the rules in the box, so GW could very well do that with wracks. Though we're obviously getting a new codex.

Honestly instead of rending, simply making combat drugs something you select instead of roll for would be great. I never open my fridge and find a baggie of cocaine in my 12 pack of beer. Would be nice, but unfortunately it never happens.
