That's cool. I like having an army wide buff that my opponent can negate on a whim. Eidt: Nevermind didn't realize I could be that someone. Reminder kids, don't start drinking before noon. Though the immobilized on a 6+ was more in line with my thinking.

Though the immobilized on a 6+ was more in line with my thinking. No, no. If *either* player wants Night Fighting, then you roll. It's just that if neither player wants night fighting, they don't have to put up with it anyway.

If your opponent's shooting is significantly better/damaging than your own, Night Fighting seems like a smart option.

| Not necessarily. You might not want Night Fighting when it affects you too.
By the way, Night Fighting now just gives all units Stealth during the first turn. No more 12" to 24" and 24" to 36" and so on.

Bummer! I managed to save 2 of my skimmers from evaporating first turn at my last tourney, vs IG/Wolves, because we stole the init, rolled night-fight, and I positioned properly. Her master of ordinance was outside 36" so couldn't large-blast two of my raiders who were snuggling; I got shrouded on the only vehicles she COULD shoot; and on her turn she still couldn't get enough Dakka into range to do more than a single hull point. Night-Fighting, I'll miss you. As for the original thread, mostly I'm agreeing with whoever it was on the first page who suggested they'll try highlight DE as a potential army for new blood. New Codex coming out in the next year, new ruleset, and a pretty haemonculi to go with the new Coven kit purported to be released whenever.

I think it`s probably this year - with this fast release of everything from GW lately. So Nov sounds fine to me

| I'm not done with my full read-through of the new book, but here is what I've found so far which may be of use:
1) As far as I can tell, the 'max of 2 per turn' limit on missiles has been removed. So, we can go back to using Razorwings as 4 missile delivery systems.
2) Pinned units cannot fire overwatch. Granted, since terrorfexes/horrorfexes are no longer in the DE codex, our pinning options are limited - hopefully, we'll get them back in the next codex.
3) Sniper rule no longer includes pinning. This is a mixed blessing, as it makes enemy snipers less pesky... but it also means that allied eldar rangers are slightly less useful.
4) Deep-striking vehicles are treated as having moved at combat speed. This means that warriors on deep-striking raiders can fire with everything they've got (I *believe* that in 6th edition, deep-striking vehicles came in at cruising speed)
5) splinter rifles get to double-tap at full range if at least one enemy model is within 12' when they fire. Of course, this applies to enemy bolters and other rapid fire weapons too.

| Hm, point five is a nuisance, when fighting the Tau empire then...
But then, when using the baron, deep striking could be much fun.
Why would you possibly want to fire 4 missiles at once? I think, 2 are really enough.

As a Blood Angels player, it means my missles would be even more effective things againt TEQ units, as I could have 4 S8 AP1 missles and a TL MultiMelta since I could fire 4 and Power of the Machine Spirit the Melta into another Termie.

| Also, I think that moving 'Vehicle Explodes' to 7 on the chart is a really good thing for haywire wyches - You won't have any more incidences of wyches blowing themselves up while taking out an enemy vehicle. Unfortunately 'Catastrophic Damage' is still in effect for Superheavies, so this does not apply to them.
However, it seems possible that you could probably lock up in close combat and take out Superheavy Walkers with haywire wyches now (if you don't mind sacrificing the wyches in the ensuing explosion), since D weapons now only ignore invulnerable saves on a 6.
