The jungle drums are almost deathly quiet - who are we going to beat up on this month? There might be some new Nurgle headed our way, not sure though, so you may want to plan for that.

But otherwise, it's a free painting month opponent-wise bounce

Wotcha you gonna paint during the month of July? Make a vow, or make a threat, and tell us what you hope to achieve. Those of you who succeed in your archonly endeavours will get your name highlighted in TDC's highly-coveted-but-not-so-visible Commorraghan purple!

For those of you who fail, well ...... I hope you can outrun a Khymera. Or your buddy at least Very Happy

Evil Space Elves - assemble and paint: 5 man Tactical Support Squad with melta guns, 1 Rhino, 1 Land Raider, 1 Kharn, 5 Tactical Legionnaires; convert and base: 5 Terminators, 1 Praetor in Terminator armor. Orks: complete 1 Dakka Jet, assemble 3 Killer Kanz. 1 Herald of Khorne.

Facelessabsalom - complete 8 Wyches and a 5-man IF devastator squad.

Dii - 3 Razorwing flock bases, 5 Wracks, 1 Raider, 10 Scourges, 3 Trueborn, 1 Archon.

Gobsmakked - finish detailing 60+ Dark Harvest warriors, 1 Kutlakh, 1 Vargaard, 2 Lords, 2 Despairteks, 1 Triarch Stalker, 4 Heavy Destroyers, and 3 Annihilation Barges.

Skulnbonz - 3 Wyverns, 3 Flak Tanks.

Silverglade - 1 Venom and 5 Scourges, plus 10 Wyches and the Baron already in process.

I'm going for a Ravager and 6 Tau Fire Warriors.

There is a convention in August and I am going to participate in its tournament and play Eldar. To do that, I have to paint all of the following: 1 Vaul's Wrath platform, 1 Spiritseer, 1 Wave Serpent, 5 Wraithguard, 6 Windrider Jetbikes, 7 Warp Spiders. I failed to do it last year, so I will call it the "Thousand Points Challenge 2: The Revenge: This Time It's Personal".

It's going to be hell painting all that white, but I must do it!

Some pretty ambitious vows so far this month.

I aim to finish detailing the tournie army I almost completed last month. I won't get the bases done, that is whole other project in itself. So that's, 60+ Dark Harvest warriors, 1 Kutlakh, 1 Vargaard, 2 Lords, 2 Despairteks, 1 Triarch Stalker, 4 Heavy Destroyers, and 3 Annihilation Barges.

I quickly realize I'm going to fail this month vow again... I forgot I have two weeks vacation away from my stuff and one week with guests... I have 4 days to work!

At least I can outrun khymera...

Kharn is done minus the gore treatment. The brush that I use for the gore splatter is toasted and won't get replaced for a week or so. I'm calling him done:

Fire Warriors all done. Pics to follow. Ravager done apart from the sail, for which I'm going to experiment with my airbrush. I've primed 14 Raider/Ravager sails in expectation of some pretty spectacular fails on my way to (hopefully) mastering the airbrush. In the process I accidentally opened up a Raider box so I'm adding that to the vow for the month.

Well, my vow is a giant zero this month, just not motivated much after the big push in June for the tournament. Perhaps my pending vacation will clear the cobwebs a bit.

Can't decide if I want Chapterhouse to replace that, or f I want to actually screw around with trying to fix the miscast. I'm scrapping the Land Raider for this month until I have time to contact them and sort it out.

Lucky bloo all over the Dakkajet, dead proppa! Very nicely done ESE, the weathering looks terrific.

Mostly done, though I had to take shortcuts to get in the convention deadline. Couldn't finish every model to my standard, gaming standard will have to do instead! Pics coming later in the evening.

Warp Spiders and Vaul's Wrath battery are fully finished, Wraithguard, Wave Serpent, Spiritseer and Jetbikes painted to three colour & base gaming standard as I ran out of time to get them the way I like - the con is tomorrow!
