1801pts The plan, basically, is to Turbo-Boost the hell out of the opponent, bringing up a few weapons platforms to deal with infanty, and having the Haemonculi hiding at first, then running around independently to use "hope" to get some good uses out their one-shot items. (I tried this with three detachments, but the Reavers and Troops requirements got me to 1800pts alone....) I'm playing Space Wolves soon, and will let you know how it goes. probably not well, but what the hell.

| Well I like it; with all those bikes you'll have a good control of the table. | |

| Ok, I've played the list three times now, and thought I'd let you know how it went.
The first time around was against a straight forward Black Templars list, and to be honest it didn't go well. He was hunkered down in a firing line, and took the initiative. I was gunned down very early on, leaving little left to be effective in a prolonged battle. It was the old problem of losing the initiative, and then just being fired upon by a stationary firing line army.
The second game went far better. Space Wolves and Guard allies. He had the Wolves geared up as reserves to come in from flanks, deep strike, wherever. Unfortunately this left him REALLY open. Two Reaver boost attacks took down the Wolf Scouts, and the nothers just whipped around the table taking down Guard units. Sentinels and a Chimera fell in the opening couple of turns, as did his command squad (so no more orders or orbital strikes). By the time the Wolves did come on in force, I had wiped away the guard contingent with turbo boosting and splinter fire, leaving me plenty left to focus on one piece of the Wolf army at a time. The Voidraven shot down his new flying thing, killing most of the guys inside, and his Termiantors were just too slow to get anywhere in time to be useful.
The third game was just yesterday. Orks. This one had me worried, because there were a LOT of Orks. His opening turn was thankfully light on fire, so I spent mine boosting around and laying as much fire as I could into his mobs of Boyz. The boosters did heavy damage to his trucks, limiting his speed, whilst other units sat on objectives (it was a Maelstrom game) and wracked up some early points. By the ewnd of his second turn though, all my Reavers were dead. This looked bad, BUT it had actually given me an advanatage. I had effectively stopped the advancew of the horde. Ok, I lost a lot of expensive units, but they had done their damage and made the horde move BACKWARDS, giving me much more room and time to fire on the larger units with the Venoms and Ravagers, and eventually with the Voidraven. By the time the bigger Orks got close, I could just send the Haemonculi out to deal with them (one Haemonculi went up to a Mek with a unit of Meganobz and threw a Shattershard at them. He KILLED THEM ALL). This one was closer, a very close thing I think, but still an 18 to 10 victory for the Dark Eldar.
All in all, I am liking the list. The control it gives of the battlefield is exceptional. Even when the Reavers are being used as sacrifical pawns, they're doing their damage first and seriously holding their opponents up and giving me all the room and time I need to do what I want.

| I'd drop the blasters off of the reavers, and drop the Dark Gate Haemonculus, and the Orb of Despair haemonculus. Reason: 3 S8 AP2 shots is better than a S10 AP- Large Blast in most situations.
This will give you the following points: Haemy w/ Dark Gate + Liquifier (85 Points) Haemy w/ Orb + Liquifier (80 Points) 4 Blasters (60 Points)
Total: 225 Points
That's enough for you to get 2 more Ravagers(6 Dark Lances), and have 14 points left to spare.

| I like your list couple of my thoughts on it. I tend to use heat lances on reavers (if you want to keep a weapon on reavers) because it's cheaper and which has a higher chance to pop vehicles single handily if it pens (ap1 instead of 2). I also tend to miss a lot with my ravagers or the opponent makes his jink saves so I like to toss wyches with haywire in the venoms (135 instead of 120). Dropping one or two of the haemonculus special weapons will fill the slots for that. | |
