Or just like....always. ??? No one should have an army-wide special rule that just gives them all complete immunity to our weapons. Fearless models should be allowed to remain unaffected by our fear weapons. Works as written on all others, including ATSKNF models. ATSKNF is basically a free special rule anyhow when you break down space marine points cost and compare them to other factions. So, it's already a free special rule their entire army gets that is super-useful, makes them immune to sweeping advance and gives them auto-rally. Does it really need to completely invalidate an entire class of weapons too?

| It'd be nice if our scary scaremongers inspired by nightmares and fairy tale villains could actually cause pinning somehow.
Since there are only two ways in the game to reflect disrupting your enemy's morale, it seems kinda strange that our guys are completely incapable of using one of them.

| Wow necro'd thread. Reminded me of a much more hopeful time though.
2014: Are Dark Eldar Scary or Killy?
2016: Nope.

| I would like us to be scary and killy whilst being a glasshammer still. Would be nice is something like Disintegrators had pinning and were available kn Scourges or Trueborn. Have some nice fear based artefacts too.
I am hopeful for our next codex

| I think it is perfectly reasonable and fluffy to suggest that when facing SPEHSS MARENS! the Dark Eldar employ means that don't necessarily terrify so much as cause the enemy to overestimate them and hence make sub-optimal tactical decisions. The problem is that if they have such equipment, why wouldn't they use it all the time. The crux of the issue is that a tactic were famous for is useless against an army who is famous for being immune to said tactic.
It makes more sense to me that the Dark Eldar would normally only bring equipment to confuse the foe (hologram projectors, smoke grenades, noisemakers, etc.) but bring particularly scary stuff when they know they're facing an enemy such tactics be effective against, which is more akin to how a player is going to think as well.

| "Prey they don't take you alive"
Certainly more scary than killy. But I think "scary" is quite an understatement at that.

| If GW brought out a formation that grants rerolls to wounds with splinter fire I would feel more "killy".
On the plus side, we are "scary"

On the plus side, we are "scary" Actually, Splinter weapons don't kill their targets. They just paralyze them so they can be brought back savely to Commorragh. And if I may quote the Codex: - Codex wrote:
- Their favourite tools of war include splinter weapons that can set every nerve aflame with pain
At least, that is the case when raiding. Inside Commorragh Splinter weapons are loaded with lethal ammo.

| I dont think all splinter weapons shoumd be generalised on fluff. In the fluff we have every single method of killing a creature within Commorragh. We also have all sorts of crazy Haemies and toxin vendors. Sure, some splinter weapons could have paralasis toxins, but others could make the creatire die from forceful ejection of their lymph fluids througj their pores, or toxins that have accelerated dehydration. The possibilities would be limited by the mind of the creator in the fluff! | |

| I think they they're should be an emphasis on being scary so they can subdue their targets and take them alive. Obviously they would have to kill some of the enemy force, but this force should be scared as to minimise engagements. | |
