Haemonculi Coven Models

I'm blown away by the quality you're showing off in this thread (and your older Kabal thread). You're really making me re-think my own ideas for my army, and the techniques I could use, and should use for things! In one of your posts there is a mention that you uses your "usual Dark Eldar" skin tone for the coven troops and scourges. What is this technique? It looks exactly like the colour I would like for my own warriors/hellions. Though I suspect I'd have to paint a wee bit better first to get it looking anywhere near as nice, a basic recipe would be incredibly useful!

Oohhh, those are quite amazing. They're all just so clear and perfect, and I especially love the purple glowing in the heavy weapons backpack. But just a question, would you actually use those Sybarites with blast pistols and agonisers on the table top?

Here's a quick addition to my Coven Themed Kabalites, Duke Whitewolf.

He's basically a Duke Sliscus proxie model that will be painted in the same theme as my Coven Force .

Sir, as I've said before, I love your work, and these Coven Warriors are just as fitting as all else.
One question I thought of when I saw this on the blog: What made you choose the heads you did for the Sybarites? Is there a fluffy reason behind it? Or was the decision made simply because you liked the models?

I really liked those head swaps and was just dying to use them somewhere. I figured they added a slightly creepier vibe to the warriors making them look more coven based than Kabal based.

This is what I call my Retro Raider Redux!


A blast of inspiration hit me recently when I was look at old pictures of 3rd edition Dark Eldar. I realized that old raiders were not all that terrible, just outdated looking.

So I decided to update 2 of them to match the current line. Below are pic of the first one.

Basically what I did was modify a new raider bottom to fit under an old raider. I swapped the weapons, crew and added some current kit detail like blades and trophy poles and you always can't have too many skulls on spikes.

Holy Schneider...just soiled myself a bit That is truly something. The new Raider bottom really makes the entire thing work without looking forced. Excellent!

I'm certainly coming to the end of my current building phase and about to move into my painting phase for a month or two.

I do this in cycles every 2 months or so. Build heavily, rack up a dozen or so painting projects, then switch gears and paint like a crazy fool for weeks and bang them each out.

The addition to my Coven Forces is much needed. I LOVE Ravagers and need the extra firepower.

Conversion wise there are a lot of subtle additions to this boat. I made the sail by slicing and combining 2 other Ravager sails to get a unique shape. I added full face mask heads on all the crew to tie them into my other Coven Vehicles and Coven Warriors. As well as some Talos bits on the pilot and gunner. A Orc Boar Boys standard and a creepy ram skull on the prow wrapped up the whole package

Might I ask what kit the Skaven banner is from? They do look really nice on our vehicles.

I wanted to make a new Haemonculus for my coven forces but wanted something unique. I deicide to steer clear of the huge hump back, tons of arms look and go for something more classic and elegant.

I figure each Haemonculus has their own unique aesthetic, so there's room for everyone's style in Commorragh.

He's made from a finecast Haemonculus, High Elf dragon Mage Torso, Talos arms, a Chaos Renegade claw and scourge head spliced with a Deamonette head.

Fantastic looking Haemonculus. He looks like a true arch-villian. Great modelling can't wait to see him painted.

Both the idea for the hand and the one for the head have now been officially stolen. Thanks!

Those old Raiders are really cool mate, i have seen some terrible adaptations believe me, but yours is a spot on.

In all seriousness, those are some good models, i really like your retro raiders. They look very nice and should give your opponent a siezure when you say, Yeah, bringing 10 of these.

Now my Elegant Haemonculus Conversion is finished as well.

There's room for everyone's style in Commorragh for every Haemonculus' own aesthetic. This individual has gone for a more classic and elegant style.

He painted to match the rest of my coven forces and features some OSL glows effects on the fluid vials.

Nice use of the dragon rider mage torso! I like it. Also really dig the nod to the classic female Haemi

Like your enitre army, your Duke and Haemonculus are awesome models. I love the mixing of fantasy elf parts used throughout your force.

That is a cool female heamonculus, though a bit of a weird head, but I admit, it does come off as heamonculus, those are weird guys anyway.

I'm seriously curious on how those raiders would end painted, but I want more painted stuff, whatever you throw at us, most of posts are beautiful models.
