Seeing as how I have this mini and how the forum tag even suggests it - what do you think she'd be like // what would you equip an archon with.

For me:
Huskblade + CCW
soultrap
combat drugs
shadow field
PGL and blaster (the 'grenade' launcher)

Flicking through the old Codex and remembering this thread I thought I'd give it a go...

Kruellagh, Archon of The Emasculators

WS:7 BS:7 S:3 T:3 W:3 I:7 A:4 LD:10 (This statline brings her in line with modern Archons.)

Wargear: Kabalite Armour, Hellmask, Phantasm Grenade Launcher (with Damnation Grenades), Soul Flayer

Special Rules: Fleet, Night Vision, Power from Pain, Independent Character,

Hellmask: These are terrifying masks that generate an aura that causes unnatural dread. An opponent wishing to attack Kruellagh in the assault phase must take a leadership test in every round they wish to attack her. Any that fail will need 6s to hit her. (Let's bring this old relic back just for her.)

Damnation Grenades: Kruellaghs Phantasm Grenade Launcher can be used as normal, however in the shooting phase it can fire carefully crafted damnation grenades. These have the following profile:

Range:12 S:4 AP:3 Assault 1/Blast (I've changed her terrofex into a PGL as it is it's most modern equivalent and allowed her to fire her special grenades from here, I've also upped the range to 12 to make her slightly more formidable. Whether this should go back down to 6 is up for discussion.)

Soul Flayer: Kruellagh is armed with a unique weapon called the Soul Flayer. From her hands extend two lethal spikes that can be used impale a victim and extract their vital juices. The Soul Flayer is a poisoned weapon that wounds on a 2+ and grants Kruellagh an additional attack. In addition if Kruellagh causes a wound to an enemy that is base to base contact, she recieves a 3+ invulnerable save until the next player turn or a pain token. (If I just imported her old rules she'd be rather rubbish offensively. She still wounds on a 2+ but I have added garnering an invun or pain token to represent her getting high off the bloodshed she is reaping. This makes her a rather defensive character in that regards but that could be her niche.)

Points value and feedback please.

I think your stats and wargear are spot on, nothing over the top and a little nod to the past. I would be inclined to adjust the grenades back to 6 inches as that better fits her overall assault/close combat nature and flushing out her prey. At 12 inches, they may still be too far away.

Points? - same as the Baron, a bit more than a Succubus and definitely less than Malys.

I worked out that an Archon with PGL and Venom Blade is 90pts, then you have to work in her grenades, hell mask and weapon, I'm looking more at 120-140 myself assuming the grenades stay at 12 inches. The thing is, would anyone use her? I'm not looking to make an overpowered hell bitch but although having revised her I wouldn't use her in any sort of casual competitive setting.

I think 130+pts sounds good. About 100pts for archon without damnation grenades and venmblade instead of soulflayer, The damnation grenades and soulflayer seem worth 15pts each at least.

I like this version of Kruellegh enough to go buy the model, I think local shop has 2-3 dusty ones still if I remember.

Maybe allow the +1 attack next turn as an option when a wound is caused, so once her unit has built up pain points and she has 3++, she attacks faster. I doubt anyone would take extra attack until they had 3++ for turn and a few pain tokens. A inverse of Lilith, she is good at killing poor armour with any toughness, lilith does low toughness any armour. Kruellegh just takes a few rounds to get warmed up. With that change I would put points at around 150.

The way I see her right now is an alternative to a Succubus/Archon. She is not offering anything special to a unit or to your army overall, and she doesn't have a variety of weaponry or gear to choose from. She is a CCW specialist, but she has to survive long enough to get there first (what is her save?), so I wouldn't give her any more points.

If she enabled Twilight Shroud for a unit and/or upgraded a unit of wyches to BB status, something like that, I'd give her more.

Im thinking around 100~105. She offers nothing to the overall army, and yes while she is nice to tie something up forever (as long as she does a wound) She has to A: get to combat, and B: do that wound!!!! Plus even baron (who is our cheapest SC) has a shadowfield, so I dont see why anyone without one should be more expensive then him.
