| What do you guys think the impact of the increased amount of Deep Striking will be on objective grabbing in the Maelstrom Missions? I've played games where I started with 3 victory points turn one simply for being close to objectives that I flipped from the deck turn 1. By deepstriking (almost) everything, we're giving up the opportunity to score early points, or am I mistaken? We can't risk exposing the few units that we dó put on the table turn 1.
When seventh edition just came out, I thought Dark Eldar were meant to be the objective grabbing bastards kind of army. With the new PFP and the emphasis on deepstriking, I feel we're being pushed more into the lategame.

| I really feel annoyed at being squeezed for another £15 just to get all the best options in the supplement. | |

| I will skip the supplement. I really dislike coven as an army concept and I hate the minis. Not only that monopose grots but also that SM mask fantasy slaanesh chaos barbarians...erm I mean Wracks. | |

| I like the talos and cronos models, but not so hot on wracks and grots. will be looking for proxies, as they're insanely expensive, too. | |

- with the removal of a Force Org chart you may as well just take whats good and claim objectives with them.
You know units in an unbound army can't claim objectives, right? Yes they can. Unbound just don't get ObSec Oops, my bad! Sorry guys.

- I see some positives out of all this, and here they are:
1. Deep Strike on all vehicles at combat speed. 2. Aethersails still cost 5 points, now give you 24" of TB movement, and no longer stops passengers from shooting next round. 3. Stealth Jinking is a 3+ cover, Ignore Cover sucks, but it's still better than nothing.
Agreed. That and more haywire ranged weapons everywhere. Scourges and Taloi comes to mind. - Quote :
When you combine all these together, you might be able to do some stuff. I'm not saying this release is good, it really kills me inside, but this above is as good as it's going to get.
Well, I would agree with the close combat weapons and the general indifference to lances. Haywire on the other hand is nice to have. - Quote :
You literally do not need the Voidraven Bomber at all. It's 160 stock with 2x VLs and the mine without any upgrades, if you take missiles on it the price goes up, and you can only buy them in bunches of 4. So no matter what, you're paying extra for them. I still think 3x Ravagers will be default in Heavy, especially now that the Razorwing went to FA.
I would agree on certain levels, but sometimes that Str 8 lance annoys me and the str 9 helps me mitigate this annoyance. Not to say anything bad about the Ravager, but I guess they are one of the units that will be sitting home this time due to its suffering performance in 7th. The loss of Aerial Assault just hit the nail on that coffin. - Quote :
With that said, a pure DE army would probably look like: Succubus 6x Raiders in core with at least 3x gunboats, 1x Wyches, 2x min Warriors blasterboats. 3x Venoms with Blasterborn in Elite. A unit of Reavers A single Razorwing 3x Ravagers
I was thinking more to this line for pure dark eldar (provided that we are still in the CAD Detachment); Archon 3 Venoms with Blasterborns 3 Raiders/venoms with min warrior blaster squad 2 units of units of Haywire Scourges 1 Reaver squad 2 Ravager 1 Voidraven Of course there are the ally shenanigans, and that is when the list really starts to form into something monstrous. Whether it is good or not is another matter entirely.
