I have the book, ask me a question - summary as of Oct. 3rd in OP

I got the book yesterday... I can say that most of the rumours  are true. But feel free to ask. I will do my best to answer.

This is a summary of scorpion’s posts up to, and including, October 3rd.  PLEASE NOTE that unit point costs and complete weapon profiles have been edited out of the summary.  Thanks, Gob.

Grotesques are the new hit, I think. Same stats but.... they do not blow up and they got Flesh gauntlets + ccw and Rampage. Nice!! Flesh Gauntlets: S as user, AP-, Lethal Dose, poison (4+)
Lethal Dose: 6 to wound gives ID.

Are scourge rumours true, squads of 5 can take 4 heavy weapons?
Yes.

6 fast attack slots?
In the "Realspace Raiders Detachment" can you get 6 fast choices, yes.

can other units enter via webway portal once deepstriked in?
does webway portal use same small blast template as before(really hope my webway portals get used!)
any unit the Archon/succubus/heamon that has it have joint and their transport. Thats DS without scattering.

No blast.

Transport capacity of vehicles the same?
Yes.

Can any if the HQs take a bike or sky board?
No and no.

- are there still trueborn in there and can they still take the same weapons they did in the old dex
Yes and Yes.

- are mandrakes better?
Much better, stealth, shrouded and baleblast from start. Baleblast.

- what got nerfed in terms of units
Wyches are dead no buffs, no haywire, Dodge only in Fight subphase. Incubi can’t get grenades.

- can venoms still take double splinter cannons?
Yes but can only get Grisly trophies and chain snares.... no shields. SUCKS!!

- what defenses did our vehicles get ?, with the removal of Flickerfields to everything other than venoms.
Night shields give stealth and the new detachment gives cover in the first turn.

- how much is a shadowfield now?/ who can take them
Clonefield is 4+ inv. Shadowfield is almost the same. It works until the end of the phase in which you fail the 2+ inv.,  only archon

- What do WWP's do now? and how many points?
gives DS without scatter,  archon/succubus/ heamon can take it.

Do wyches have any chance to survive overwatch and raider explosion? or nothing has changed?
No change

Which units have access to Haywire weapons?
only wych champion, succubus, archon

Is there any change on the kabalite warrior profile and equipment?
n/a

Are Harlequins still in the book?
if yes, do they have bladestorm special rule (as in eldar codex)? do they have access to a transport (either designated transport or can be bought in a support slot)
Only in fluff, no entry.

Can an Archon have any AP2 weapon at all?
Not in melee

Which models can have a Venom blade?
Acothyst

Are combat drugs an item that HQ's can buy from a list (like a Space marine captain can buy an Auspex), or is it directly bought within the entry? Can an Archon still buy it?
No drugs for archon

Are Venoms and Raiders Fast Attacks as well as Dedicated Transports?
Yes

At the end of shooting phase, a unit that has been hit by a weapon with that rule must make a Ld test. units takes wound with no armour or cover save for each point the test is failed by. Doesn't Work on Fearless and ATSKNF.

Both PGL and TGL has that.

Does Urien still offer a S6 upgrade to Grots?
No

Stats on the wracks and grotesques? Also, Do they get FnP stock or earlier than other units?
The same... they start with FNP and...

Talos and Chronos start with FNP as well. And Chronos Spirit Probe gives DE unit within 6" +1 to FNP to a maximum of 4+

Any shooting weapon options for Archon, like Blasters, Shardcarbines etc...
Yes

Can Succubus take relics?
Yes

Is Archon armor save 5+ or 3+

Do Warrior squads come with Sybarites free?
No

heard from somewhere that each of them now have flesh gauntlets, and can be equipped with liquefiers each. Any confirmation?
Confirmed!

All missiles have the blast or Large blast rule. The void bomb is large blast now, Dark scythes that the voidraven can get instead of voidlances are same as Dark Lance but 24", Blast.

Could you detail Urien for us? Pt cost, stats, special rules, war gear?
Gnarlskin, CCW, Ichor Injector, Clone Field, FNP(4+), It will not Die, Night Vision, Master of Pain, PfP, Father of pain, Casket of Flensing.

So talos moving up with cronos have 4+ fnp? Would say a unit of 2 cronos give 4+ fnp to each other?
No, it affect the chronos it self as well. So one Chronos with spitit probe has FNP 4+.

Really liking the sound of grots though. Points stayed the same on them?
Yes

Mandrakes cause fear as well. So they have: Fear, Fleet, Infiltrate, Move through cover, Night vision, PfP, Shrouded, stealth, Baleblast, CCW. A very nice unit.

Archon can buy his own Venom, and blasterborn can have venoms as well.

Finally justifying the fluff in the old codex- in the venom entry, something about the venom transporting a single passenger in STYLE. Archon in a Raider. PIMP.
Cant get a Raider, only venom.

Can archon take a gun other than the blaster and relic?
Blast pistol...

DE Archons are the true PIMPS of 40k. But no access to AP2 melee weapon.  So they can’t actually kill anyone with a 2+.

Do sslyths have the bulky rule?
No, just FNP and Fleet.

What is Raider capacity?
As before

Can you take Warrior squad and IC in the same raider?
As before

What about bloodbrides - what do they bring to the normal Wyches?
As before

Who can take power lance?
No one. Only access to power swords

Do Razorwings comes with missiles?
As before

So archon with court and lhaeman will make his agoniser 2+ poison ap3?
No, Lhamaean poison doesn't affect the archon.

Scorpion, could you clarify if chronos has anything other than increasing FNP within 6"?
Nothing more. Same weapons as before. It starts with a spirit syphon and can buy spirit vortex and spirit vortex. Vortex and syphon do the same as before.

I'm getting hype here. Just a few questions - do Lhamaeans still have their 2+ poisoned CCW?
Yes

Also, is their cost the same?
10 points

Can I go with a Court full of Lhamaeans?
Yes, up to 12 of them.

Trueborn are min squad size 5 correct? Are they otherwise unchanged?
Yes, 1 point less.

Are incubi also min squad size 5?

Are splinter cannons more expensive for everything now? And what does the second cannon cost for the Venom?

Do mandrakes have any non-cover-save save?

What does a trilance Ravager cost?
10 more than before, incl. 5 points for each lance.

so court can be made up of 12 of any model?

In the Wargear section there is a note that states that Venom blades are only for Acolyths but...
In the Solitaires option it reads that the solitaire can change his carbine for a blast pistol and a venom blade.

Trueborn don't get access to carbines, jetbikes have Hit & run.

Baleblast is 18"

5 points, making flat out 24"

Can Archons still take 2 blast pistols?
only one pistol

Was there any change to how many special weapons can be taken by a squad of Trueborn since the size increased from 3 to 5? (Still only 2 dark lances/splinter cannons and 4 blasters?)
No change

What exactly does the Wych special weapons do?  Still trying to figure out something with the 100 wyches that I have Sad
2 Razorflails: AP5, Specialist weapon, re-roll to hit. Shardnet & Impaler: AP5, +1A, re-roll 1's to hit and wound. 2 Hydra Gauntlets: AP5, Shred, specialist weapon.

Is the Voidraven Bomber now 10/10/10 as rumored?
yes

Can any of the voidraven, razerwing, raider, ravager, venom or reavers jink and fire at full balistic skill or are they stuck snapfiring after jinking?
Only snapfiring

You mentioned that an acothyst is the only one that can use a venom blade.  Can you confirm that scourges can no longer use a venom blade even though there is one that comes on their sprue?
Solarite can get it too.

You mentioned Trueborn have the same weapon options.  Please confirm that they can still use shardcarbines.  Other rumors have identified this as an option that was removed.
It is indeed removed.

Can you confirm how beast packs work.  Can you really take 12 of anything in any combination and don't even need to bring a beast master in the pack?
Yes, that is true.

Are there any new army specific rules for any of the units besides pfp?
No.

When you take a Talos or Chronos in a group of 3 do they stay as a unit on the table or do you purchase them together and then they act independently on the board?
Is states unit size 1-3.

What does the ossifactor do? The rumor sounded to good.
…….. Fleshbane and if a non-vehicle is removed as casualty, that model's unit suffers D6 hits, Ignoring Cover, S = T of model removed and AP-.

Nice and 1 can be bought per 5 wracks just like LG.

Has the shredder changed?
Now has Shred.

I'm just wondering a few things about the Beastpacks:
Have any of the prices for the models changed? Up or Down?
Beastmaster down, Khy down, RF up, CF down.

How does the unit composition work? Similar to the 5th ed rulebook, or different?
12 models, free choice.

You mentioned that the Haem model is more like the old Haem Ancient, is it the same price?
Slightly less

Does anything change or 'speed up' the PfP table?
Haemon, Animus Vitae (need to wound with it - this actually very nice!!!) Archon in the formation. (not a very good formation)

Are the Relics usable and interesting, or crap and interesting, or neither?
Artefacts of Cruelty are mostly good I think. There can be some nasty combinations.

Is there any way to make Dark Lances better, or have they changed? I never found a Ravager particularly effective at busting tanks.
The same.

Have weapon profiles changed, especially, haywire blaster?
Some have, some have not. Haywire blasters are the same.

What are the options for Arena Champ? Just power sword and Agonizer?
power sword and agonizer

Reavers still Skilled Rider?
Yes

Any changes to reaver options and their pricings. Blaster? Caltrops? Heal-L?
Bikes and weapons all cheaper. Same options as before, allthough Clusters give D6 S6 HoW hits, all their HoW hit have rending, and Grav gives concussive.

Drugs give on a D6:
1. +1A
2. +1S
3. +1I
4. +1T
5. +1WS
6. +1Ld
warlord traits:

1. warlord and DE within 12" have Fear
2. re-roll Seize, Night Fightig reserve (INSANE GOOD!!!)
3. Warlord has Rage

6. warlord and DE within 12" get Fearless

so lelith is trash? what was the problem with old A leage apart  than i wouldnt be so mad with such a useless warlordtrait as +1WS..., srsly only Succubbi benefit from it rest is meh they alredy hit on 3+ with WS7, since the other guys with WS6 got removed...
For 15 pts she can get an Impaler allowing her to re-roll 1's to wound...

Has anything changed in reaver profiles? Every Stat the same like armor save? Unit size 3-10? Bladevane gone?

Nope, no other use than DS without scatter.

What is the Formation in the Codex?
1 Archon, 1 Court, 1 unit Incubi, 1 ravager, 6 units of warriors, 1 unit scourges, 1 unit hellions. All units that can take a transport must do so.

If archon is alive treat the current turn as being one higher when determining PfP, the cover special rule and can re-roll warlord trait. The 2 last rules goes for the detachment as well-[/i]

What are the special rules for  beast packs?
1. flocks
3W, 4 A, rending, swarms.

2. khymera
S4 T4, deamon.

3. fiends
Rage

4. Beastmasters
same but... any beastmaster can get power swords/ Agonisers. Imagine 12 of them with agonisers. Very expensive but alot of 4+ poison, AP 3 attacks.

How does the new PfP work and in what way does Haemonculus/Coronos/Wracks/Archon affect it?
turn based:
1 turn. Nothing
2. Fnp 6+
3. Fnp 5+
4. Fnp 5+, Furious charge
5. + fearless
6. + Rage
Heamon gives +1 turn for him and unit he joins, Animus Vitae +1 turn for the whole army!!!, Archon in the formation +1 turn for the whole army. And these Things are cumulative.

What the changes to hellions, if any? Did the price go down as rumored? Are the Helliarch weapon/options still the same?
Yes, champion can take PGL. hellglaive: yes, AP5. Stunclaw: yes, AP6, ID in challenges.

What about Drazhar what happened to him? Did he change?
Short answer: ye.  No jumping around anymore, can only join Incubi and gives them..... +1 WS. :-( Rampage, otherwise the same.

So hellglaives no longer count as two CCW's?
No :-(

Clawed fiends used to have 4 wounds and 4 attacks.... Curious most about the wounds.

I can DS 6 Scourge squads without scatter with 4 HB. My real question is can I bring 3 2 man Haemy squads then split them or just 2 HQ's?
just 2 HQ's. so only 2 of these 6 scourge units can DS without scatter and only if Heamon joins them and have WWP.

Same as before, FnP and Fleet.

Do you see any way to make wracks troops?

Can I take a soul-trap on a Succubus?
No

What is the point cost for a blaster in a squad of Kabalites?
same.

Can Bloodbrides take haywire grenades for the entire squad due to them being a squad of hekatrix?
nope, only the champion can.

Are wracks the same as before? Points? Stats? Special equipment? Min squad size?
the same stats, yes. minimum size 5. ……. Acothyst can get Mindphase gauntlet, Flesh G, Scissorhand, Venom blade, Electro whip. Agoniser, Stinger Hexrifle, LG.

Hexrifle is ok now, Sniper, AP4, Precision shot gives ID. So it becomes AP2, ID when that 6 to hit is rolled.

Scorpion- what is the cost for a klaivex and did his weapons or stats change?
Incubi, Klaive and demiklaives less now, 3-10 unit size.

Pinning
One thing that strikes me is that there is not a single thing in the army that cause pinning. Pinned is liked going to ground, right? It would make sense since we can’t get assault grenades.

Can the Succubus take the Huskblade?  The HB is rumored at 10 points less, confirm?
1. No, only archon
2. confirmed.

The rumor I heard was that sslyth are now 10 points less...

Most armies updated to 7th lost access to pinning, even the sniper rule lost it. Is sad.
Our necrotoxin missiles did that in the old codex, right? Well its gone now.

Webway portals aren't unique?
WWP aren't unique.

Does the Cronos fnp aura thing affect only dark eldar?
Only affects DE

Are raiders/venoms etc available in the fast attack choices?
And both are fast choices as well.

Do the DE still have Night Vision?
Yes

Can the Haemunculus take the Archangel of Pain Relic?!
yes he can.

Is Vect mentioned in the book? …..
He is in the fluff.

Can the haemi take a hexrifle?
Yes

Is hexrifle cause a AP2 ID on to hit rolls of 6, or do you have to wound with it ?
I think so. It’s the Precision shot rule.

Sslyth Bulky?
No.

Does the lhamean 2+ poison rule only affect the archon, or does it affect sslyths too?
only affects Lhamaean. No archon or Sslyths

If i read right, many units (Coven, Sslyth, etc) start with FnP. Is this basic 5+ FnP, right, not just "count PfP 1 turn better"? So native 5+, that is unaffected by PfP Turn 2-3, AND Talos can boost it to FnP(4+)?
Yes, FnP (5+) unaffected by PfP 2-3 but it the chronos that can boost it to 4+, not Talos

Awesome so my incubi gained +1 attack rampage and init 6 attacks for the same cost as before.
Incubi are the same as before but slightly cheaper. Klaivex is more and only he has Rampage and access to demiklaives that are the same as before.

Since Lhamaeans seem to be the new wyches what kind of gear do they have besides the 2+ poison blades?
Fleet, NV, PfP, Kabalite armour, Splinter pistol, Shaimashi blade (2+ poison with Lethal Dose) Lethal dose: on a 6 to W you gain ID.

How is the artwork of the codex? color pictures of units or just pictures of the models?
Color Pictures in the fluff but only model Pictures in the army section. (mostly bad Pictures since they take med Pictures too close to the models, IMHO)

Is shadowfield exclusive to archons and clone fields for archins and haemis or can sucubbi take any of them?
Shadowfields and clonefields are arcane wargear that only the Archon has access to.

I was wondering if the Shattershard is still around? if so how does it work now?
It’s gone.

Does the new Dark Eldar FoC still have objective secured troops?  
?? Are all troops not objective secured troops?
[Objective secured is a Combined Arms Detachment command benefit. Troops are only objective secured if the detachment command benefit rules from the detachment they're taken for say they are.]
Then they are not. It’s not under the Command Benefits of the detachment. It states that the Realspace Raiders Detachment is a Unique Detachment only for DE.

Also in the formation.  is the same just a straight up 5+ cover for troops or is it something like shrouded to stack with other cover?
Both the formation and detachment provides a 5+ plus cover for troops. It is not shrouded.

Archon Weapon options, anything new?
NO AP2 melee weapon, only power sword, huskblade or Djiin blade. Blast pistol, Blaster and Animus Vitae as AP2 ranged weapons. He can get items from arcane wargear (haywire g, PGL, Clonef, WWP and shadowfield). He can get a Venom for himself.

How much is the new Djinn Blade

Does the Djinn Blade stack with another weapon?  ie, does having the gear simply confer bonus attacks?  Or must you use the Blade itself (a power sword) to gain the additional benefits?
It’s not a specialist weapon so I guess it can.

What's the price of the armor of misery?

I noticed that the demiklaives now only give +1 strength when used together but that's just from a summary screenshot so don't believe it until confirmed.
Demiklaives either +1S AP2 two handed or S as user AP3 +1 Attack.

Can't find the answer what is the min size squad of wyches?
5 to 15

What kind of upgrade options do grotesques have?
I think I’ve read that they come with liquifiers and flesh gauntlets. True?
They start with FG and CCW. You can replace CCW with LG.

What kind of gear can Aberrations take?
Aberations can take Weapons of Torture: Mindphase G, Scissorhand, Agoniser.

How much are implosion missiles on the void raven, do they work the same?
Yes,  S 6 now.
two shatterfield and two implosion missiles for 50p
four implosion missiles for 60p.
four shatterfield missiles for 40p
replace both void Lances for dark scythes for free
may take NS.
Those are the only options the voidraven has.

At least I can now finish painting my 9 mandrakes. They are also min squad size of 5 right? So no riding in the archon venom.
min size for mandrakes is 3.

So Nightshields and either our own detachment or formation = 4+ cover without the need of jink on the first turn. Nice!
Only for troops, yes. Rest of the army get 6+ cover save (+ NS giving it 5+)

Can FA Venoms or Raiders be taken as squadrons?
No.

Are kabalites minimum unit size 10+?  so no more 5 troopers in a venom?
unit size is 5 to 20. Like before.

I seem to recall the answer was no, minimum 5 but you have to have 10 to take a raider.
5 warriors can take a raider. No unit size restrictions for transports.

Haven't seen this answered, do warriors still have to be 10 models strong before you can buy a splinter cannon or dark lance? Has the number of special/heavy weapons for a warrior unit been changed (previously 1 special and 2 heavy if 20 models strong)?
What does hydra gauntlets, shardnet/impaler and razor flails cost?
The same as before.

You have helped me with strategies and lists so this is me giving back. :-)

I am curious about the Talos/cronos and kabalits (plasma grenades? Unit options?). Are they different now? How so?
What are the vehicle upgrades now? The razor wing different?

The only questions I would have, after reading the rumors is:

2. : What would the total cost of 5 scourges with 4 haywire guns cost?

I have a feeling Harlequins would still be in the book but i might be wrong according to what scorpion says. at this point, i have my fingers crossed, hoping for the best.

Razorwing is 130 points, may only take nightshields (which gives steath) and is a fast choice (not heavy). Its not a vector dancer :-( Dark Lances cost 5 more points each than a disintegrators.
