What I'm reading so far hasn't quite inspired me to order the new codex. How soon does the Coven supplement come out? I'm hoping that draws me back in. If it does then I'll buy the new dex because I'll have to.

Which "good"?

I've been in the doldrums for 40k for a while now and this is not caused by my opinion of how good or bad it is with the DE. 6 FA units isn't getting my creative juices flowing although I do like Scourges and Hellions. At the moment it doesn't look like I can theme an army around those units past that is more than taking the max allowance. The Coven supplement may do the trick.

I'm liking how reavers work now. Not that they are better than before, but I like them. I also like scourges, and cheaper hellions can be good too. Adding Ravenwing, maybe we will have a clustered FA slot.

Chronos seems cool, and thanks to them maybe talos are better now. I'll wait till I see the codex though.

Mandrakes and grots seems promising too. I think mandrakes can be such a pain in the ass from round 1 that you could build a cool army based around that. Like, 13 points? You can get a huge bunch of those stealth+shrouded guys (if they actually have that) that shoots fire. Against light-infantry (T3 or lightly armoured T4) they wreck havoc.

Multiple CAD lets us take multiple haemies, which in turn gives us potentially a turn3 PfP buff turn 1.

Archon rumored to have 3+ save. Huskblade at AP3 is still fine, he was never going to beat up on a termy unit. He'll be good at bullying MEQ squads which is just fine with me.

The voidraven... People are angry that it's 10/10/10. I understand, but this unit is and has always been an alpha strike unit. Try this on for size. Show up turn 2 or 3, drop 2 str8 ap2 blasts, the str9 ap2 large blast bomb, and a large blast missle. Seems pretty awesome! It gets shot at the turn after, JINK! for a 3+ with nightshields. Fly it off on your turn and the next it will come back on and alpha strike again at full BS. I'm going to be buying one of these!

Razorwing jetfighters moved to fast. Going to compete with scourges, but the nice thing is, multiple CAD!

Honestly I'm VERY excited. I have some lists in mind already! Turn one, move your boats up into rapid fire position with a nice jink save, turn 2 deepstrike scourges and fly in planes and clean up tanks, while your rapid fire splinter boats are ready to mop up infantry. I think what we gained the most with this release, is a little of our punch back, along with survivability of our raiders! Venoms got worse, I can agree to that, but honestly who cares? Kabbies dropped in price and rapid fire splinter rack raiders filled with kabbies are more potent than venoms anyway. Let's look at the positives folks without crying over rumors that have no pics to even back them up. Even if the rumors are true, we've got plenty of things to be excited about!

Guys, i don't think you are appreciating what those new Grots can do! If they are exactly how he says they are, then in the perfect conditions they get 9(!!!) attacks EACH. 3 Base + 2 for Rage + 1 for 2 cc weapons + D3 for Rampage, all at strength 6 for Furious Charge! That is bloomin' ridiculous.

Same about the models though (should i say model...), but i need a new Talos and the spares i get + some Rat Ogres could go a long way!

On the question front, i heard rumors that while they are taking the special characters out, they have left in some ways to emulate them, is that at all true?

The grots thing totally changed my perspective. I've been running one unit with good results but my second is gonna make a reappearance now.

I don't think Grots ever had drugs.

I heard from somewhere that each of them now have flesh gauntlets, and can be equipped with liquefiers each. Any confirmation?

Im already liking this codex more than the last, I really dont understand why people are complaining.  Thanks for the info Scorpion.

EDIT: I do wish witches got something, hopefully they are dirt cheap.

I'm looking forward to using wyches. Despite having the wires stripped away (tank hunting unfluffy), but with the new PfP, the Wyches are likely to make it into combat, and do *some* damage.

I run two units of 4 already, they are incredibly resilient even with no armour to speak of, i can see myself running three and two courts.
That would be 5 toughness 5 units they have to deal with.

People are complaining because this hobby isn't cheap. When a choice becomes invalid it represents a lot of time and money. Its understandable even if it is predictable.

Crazy_Ivan- that is exactly I'm thinking! Well the court + grots thing is anyway.

5 is the minimum size but you can buy a raider to a unit that is 10+ big.

At the end of shooting phase, a unit that has been hit by a weapon with that rule must make a Ld test. units takes wound with no armour or cover save for each point the test is failed by. Doesn't Work on Fearless and ATSKNF.

Both PGL and TGL has that.

PGL: range 18", S 1, AP-, assault 1, blast, soulfright
TGL: range 24", S 1, AP-, assault 1, blast, soulfright

Talos and Chronos start with FNP as well. And Chronos Spirit Probe gives DE unit within 6" +1 to FNP to a maximum of 4+
