| Maybe the combat drugs buff will make wyches better, but then again how can they compete against a full squad of Lhameans who are the same cost and have poisoned 2+ weapons? | |

| Thank you for taking the time to do this Q&A Scorpion! Some nice changes to the codex by the sounds of things here I do have to say however i'm rather sad the 60 Wyches i own aren't getting any love lol Could i ask what, if any, changes have been made to Lelith, is it true she is now getting re-rolls on to hit + wound instead of bonus attacks vs WS? Thank you | |

| If I ever see Scorpion in a tourney I'm buying him a drink, he more than deserves it. As far as using wyches I can see wyches being used to tarpit expensive units. The best use I can think of using them for is to absorb fire from a 2+ unit (think terminator squad) and then hit from the side with a reaver squad. if every thing goes to plan the rending HoW hits will destroy enough of them that they won't even be able to target the reavers and only attack the wyches. Shardnet is key here to make sure that the girls survive into the opponent's combat phase so we can hit and run and kill more with the reavers. please note that I'm still thinking of using the "nerfed" units. Who cares if we throw one unit away, there's a lot more where that came from. As long as we deal more damage to the enemy than the enemy deals to us we'll be good. @Scorpion, A couple questions about the war gear, -Does the Djinn blade only causes 1 wound to the wielder and can then be used again? -Do we still have mind phase gauntlet on the Haemy? because I would love to make an opponent fail that in a challenge. -What load outs for the non named HQ's look the most fun to you? -How low can we drop enemy LD by? Basically, how much fun can we have with a turn 2-3 Helmet of Spite, Webway no scatter deepstrike with PGL's and Coven Fear etc. Maybe even allied swooping hawks blinding the enemy. Also, I say let the mandrake memes begin: - Mandrake Tribute::

| Awesome. Thanks so much it's pretty cool that an army that I had a lot of success with the carnivale of pain seems to have gotten a boost with cheaper Urien and uber grots woot! | |

| I'm with you Skari, coven are going to be great. Already working on ordering another talos/cronos to bring my total to 3! Plus I need more bits because hey maybe another squad of grots is in order haha.
Thanks Scorpian for the info! You are internet famous btw, I sent Natfka your info here on the thread and he posted it on his blog Faeit212!

| Couple of questions. 1. Was there any change to how many special weapons can be taken by a squad of Trueborn since the size increased from 3 to 5? (Still only 2 dark lances/splinter cannons and 4 blasters?) 2. What exactly does the Wych special weapons do? Still trying to figure out something with the 100 wyches that I have 3. Is the Voidraven Bomber now 10/10/10 as rumored? 4. Can any of the voidraven, razerwing, raider, ravager, venom or reavers jink and fire at full balistic skill or are they stuck snapfiring after jinking? 5. You mentioned that an acoultist is the only one that can use a venom blade. Can you confirm that scourges can no longer use a venom blade even though there is one that comes on their sprue? 6. You mentioned Trueborn have the same weapon options. Please confirm that they can still use shardcarbines. Other rumors have identified this as an option that was removed. 7. Can you confirm how beast packs work. Can you really take 12 of anything in any combination and don't even need to bring a beast master in the pack? 8. Are there any new army specific rules for any of the units besides pfp? 9. When you take a Talos or Chronos in a group of 3 do they stay as a unit on the table or do you purchase them together and then they act independently on the board? Thank you so much for helping us figure out what we have with the new codex

And just like that, I'm 1000X more hesitant on making a Drow themed army.
Also, how many troops can we still get?

| Some really strange changes here. I'm glad the cool Mandrake models are going to be useful now, but so much else is just... gone.
Thanks for the preview, Scorpion.

| As for wyches I think we should consider one more option. Did you notice that Lelith has became more useful and cheaper? One unit of wyches would be a nice retinue for her in order to soak up wouns and make more scratches into enemy armor | |

| Hi guys, As soon I get home from work today I 'll look in to it again.
Just a little something here:
In the Wargear section there is a note that states that Venom blades are only for Acolyths but... In the Solitaires option it reads that the solitaire can change his carbine for a blast pistol and a venom blade.
Trueborn don't get access to carbines, jetbikes have Hit & run.
More later. | |

I dont get why people posting in this thread cant red the prvious posts. Wyches ARE expensive units (still 10 points). They cant absorb fire as they still have no armor and their invul still does not work vs overwatch. Your "key" shardnet is not going to let them survive as it has no defensive use anymore. It is a specialist weapon (so no additional attack) that lets you reroll results of 1 when wounding and hitting. So your key defensive item basically gives your 1 Attack Wych a 16,7% chance to reroll his only attack. I also dont understand why people think that mandrakes are useful now... Yes they have 2+ cover. But they still have no melee weapons to speak of, no armor and cant attack from infiltration. So congratz they can fire their 12" baleblast now. Then they get charged by an imperial guard squad and drop dead because of their low numbers and armor disadvantage. Even if you fight 10 vs 10 (where mandrakes are near triple the points) Imperial guard soliders come out on top.

Baleblast is 18", so you deploy them where they can pick on a unit and wipe it out/damage it beyond usefulness. Pathfinders would be a good target, taking away markerlights making ignores cover stuff less common. Anything not wearing power armour is not going to like 20 baleblasts coming their way, especially if they have a low leadership (ork ardboyz, Imp guard veterans etc) You need to look at infiltrators as clearing the way for the rest of your army. They won't win you the game, in fact they'll probably die quite early, but if they've taken down their target in turn one it doesn't really matter. Scorpion: Has the shredder changed?

That's how I tend to use my infiltrating units, or outflank with them to sow more destruction as the rest of the army gets there. Kommandos with Snikrot are absolutely brilliant fun with this tactic, but I can see a use for Mandrakes now they're cheaper. It's not such a big points investment anymore, which is a big help for them. Infiltrating units are like vanguarding ones in fantasy - get them forwards, do some damage early on. Maybe they'll survive, maybe they won't, but if they're enough of a distraction they've been useful.

| Hey Scorpion, thanks a bunch for doing this!
I'm just wondering a few things about the Beastpacks:
1) Have any of the prices for the models changed? Up or Down?
2) How does the unit composition work? Similar to the 5th ed rulebook, or different?
3) You mentioned that the Heam model is more like the old Heam Ancient, is it the same price?
4) Does anything change or 'speed up' the PfP table?
5) Are the Relics usable and interesting, or crap and interesting, or neither?
6) Is there any way to make Dark Lances better, or have they changed? I never found a Ravager particularly effective at busting tanks.
Thanks again!
