At least the Harlequin release is confirmed; GW just posted their video teaser (see below), along with the following flavour text:
The first dance begins on Saturday 31st January. It is a tragedy, tinged with folly and bitterness, arrogance and death. You know of what we speak…
Don’t miss the opening performance.

As my Avatar pic suggest Harlequins are the biggest and best of 40k. I am a total eldar freak and these are the supereldar. I could NOT be more exited about these news!
Oh, please be true. If this turns out to be someones idea of a sick joke I might end up causing damage to random strangers. Or cry. Probably cry! Man tears!

This release is a total shock to me. I NEVER thought this was going to happen. The rumors sound freaking awesome... looks like this is going to be assault wing of the Eldar line. Can't wait to see those transports!
On a side note...I betcha Exodites will come in the future... Phil Kelly wrote an article about them a few weeks back in White Dwarf. If they knock out Exodites as well every flavor of Eldar will have a tabletop force... except Chaos Eldar... but maybe Daemonettes are Chaos Eldar who knows.

Necrons AND Harlequins on the same day? GW is starting to lose their damned minds with this release schedule!
I think I know what we're going to talk about for the March Episode of Splintermind

I was planning on allying eldar. But with this I will find it hard NOT to get harlequins instead. I don't even care if it isn't as competitive. Jetbike and Assassin like models? SCHWING!!! Thank god I didn't buy that wraithknight yet XD.

Because they are badass and might provide some very neat possibilities when taken as allies.

A better questions is why are you not excited for Eldar clowns!
Back when I first started playing Harlequins where on of the most interesting and rare armies. They were kinda similar to Dark Eldar being very fast, fragile, and hitting hard (ideally). The Solitaire was one of the most fearsome things around back then. Those old metal models are now really dated, but back they looked great when they were available. If they were painted well they were really unique and cool.
Fluff wise they are really interesting. They kinda reminded me of grey knights (which were much more limited than now) back then because they were super elite Eldar, like how the knights are elite space marines. They were also very focused on fighting chaos. I have always liked any fluff regarding the black library.
Also murderous carnivals and killer clowns are always fun.

Clowns? I think that's playing down very much the concept of the harlequin - Cegorach, the Laughing God, who the Harlequins worship, is the Eldar God of deception, stealth, creativity, art and trickery.
Harlequins survived the downfall of the Eldar because of their psychic detachment from the attitudes of the rest of the Eldar race at that time, and the fact that Cegorach survived to protect their souls (except for the Solitaires).
Don't confuse athletic ability and bright clothing allied to a mocking sense of humour and devious minds with being a clown - they're far from it.
If you want to draw comparisons, try the Joker in Batman - dresses and plays the fool, but is extremely intelligent and deadly serious on the inside.

Right on TBE. The eternally flippant way we all talk on the internet sort of dumbs down the concept a bit. Also I think a more sinister paint job would greatly benefit the models... especially if the Harlequin concept has its roots in Carnevale Venezia in Venice which is extremelly sinister in its origins (think Eyes Wide Shut) and has a lot of parallels to the Fall of the Eldar. If you get into the headspace of the 40k universe imagining these enigmatic mystic warriors wandering through the labyrinths of the webway to spread ancient Eldar lore... and to hunt down chaos.
These guys are the keepers of the Black Library the ultimate repository of knowledge on how to defeat Chaos. They are rivals with Aehriman, friends to certain Inquisitors and back in the day one of the scariest armies on the board. The Solitaire was actually banned in my store. I've always imagined them a bit more eerie than the models have represented:
This comes courtsey of the ultimate DE fan-artist Beckjann
Maybe not an army for everyone, but I guess the same could be said about Space Wolves, Blood Angels and some of the other more "gimmicky" armies. I've always liked them a lot and TBE's Joker analogy is spot-on.

Thanks Cav!
It's an army I'd love to get stuck into, but realistically I just can't afford to yet, I've got so many projects on the go with models I actually own that need progressing first (I nearly put 'finishing', but who am I kidding, that's never going to happen.)

Remember Path of the Incubus? Even the Morr the Incubus called Motley "Clown" in a very pejorative way.
Harlequins were the coolest EVER back in the day and were so fun to play when I first started the game. Opening the original Harlequin box set and ooing and ahhing all of the coll miniatures inside is one of the my coolest 40K memories

True but after reading james swallow's dire understanding of the 40k universe and the blood Angels in particular I lost pretty much all respect for black library actually protecting the IP that makes 40k what it is. That being said, I'm also not surprised that an incubus would look down on the harlequin in that fashion, I seem to recall there are several sections in the book that whilst not described in detail show just how capable Motley really is as a combatant, albeit not so overtly dedicated as Morr.

Someone please mathammer the cc-weapons for me!
I grew up in a circus, so I really like the clown theme. The harlequins ARE clowns, not the kids party/ American /Ringling brothers actors who just dress up like a clowns, but real clowns, like those of old. In the circus, you had to be better at everything than any non-"circus performer", or else you weren't good enough, and you had to be the best at your "art"*, and the clowns had to be great not only at all "Arts", but be able to perform them while being funny. And the difference between a clown and one of those actors you mistake for a clown is the same as between a great poet/singer and some crappy auto-tuned pop-singer. It's not the clothes that makes the clown, it's the skill.
If you want to see some real clowns, go see Chaplin or Buster Keaton.
The Harlequins are warrior poets, but instead of miserable melancholic poets, they're joyful jesters and clowns. I like them.
*I was trained to be a mime since I was 2, now I'm into acting.

Couldn't agree more, Cav. Jeremie Bonamant Teboul's Dark Harlequin concept is exactly how I see them in this respect, and what I have always aspired to achieve with my Harlie collection - concept wise, I could never in my lifetime paint anything like this.
I have some Sisters of Slaughter masks that I have been saving to put on some of my Harlequins, can't wait now!

Anyone else noticed this:
Warseer wrote:
Harelequins kiss and embrace are "When model equipped with this weapon makes attacks" while Caress and Shuriken pistol are "when [using] weapon [to attack]", so, yeah, a blitzing solitaire gives 11 caresses and 1 kiss.
So if this is true, the solitaire hits hard, and don't forget the plasma-grenade /Haywire if you wanna break a land raider.
Actually, one grenade thrown, and then 12 attacks that glances on to hit rolls of 6, could easily get 3, if lucky, 4 HP off.
Just need to find a way to get re-roll to hit for him.
