| For a bit of fun, I'd like to try a Gunslinger Haemonculus - with Parasite's Kiss, Stinger Pistol and probably Scissorhands. So, two questions: 1) What unit should I put him with, do you think? Much as I like the idea, I can't think of an appropriate retinue for him. 2) Do you think there's any tactical merit in this build? | |

| You're basically looking at getting an extra shot, which hits on a 3+ and wounds on a 2+, assuming you wouldn't take the parasite's kiss normally. That's not likely to be game changing, even if you do manage to get the wound back from the kiss' special rule, so in answer to your first question I'd ask why are you doing it? Extra shot before charging? ok, but suffers the usual issue of potentially making you fail the charge roll. In with a warrior squad? In a gunboat you could argue is perhaps the best use for it, but even then it's only 1 roll to wound that's better than the normal splinter rifles, for which you trade an extra shot at >12".
I honestly can't see that either of those options is an improvement on the basic unit, so I'd have to say in my opinion, the answer to 2) is no.

Just a small note - Haemonculi are BS5 - so hit on 2s. Also, the Parasite's Kiss is Master Crafted. Also also, I would definitely take it normally. - The_Burning_Eye wrote:

| In that case, do it!
it's not a piece of equipment to base a strategy around but at 5pts so what?

One idea I had was to put him with 9 Lhamaeans in a Raider - for 9 pistol shots and then 18 I5 2+ poison attacks on the charge. Does that sound at all workable?

| Wracks maybe, short range dictates shooting. They also packs short range shooting.
Maybe 3 grots with liquifiers - you can shoot at your leasure, only brave will assault you.

| Toss a WWP on him and give the wracks liquifiers? Ossefactors are great fun too. I had enormous pleasure in killing Chaos Marines with Mark of Nurgle last weekend with one... oh, you're toughness 5? Excuse me whilst I kill you on 2s anyway and then D6 hits wounding on 4s to his friends. Where's your high toughness now?!?! | |
