Gunslinger Archon

Heya gals and guys,

I’m starting a campaign with friends.
One of them questioned the legal aspect of my Archon build.

Archon (60) Shadow field (40) 2x Blast pistol (30) - Agoniser (20) – 150pts

He told me the pistol had to be “replaced” so as I only have one splinter pistol to get replaced, I could only have one blast pistol.

Also, I’ve read somewhere on this forum (Archon build thread) that the only option for gunslinger Archon in term of cc weapon is the Djin Blade.

Can someone help me sort that out?

Unfortunately, the rules are pretty clear on this. The Archon option is:

May replace splinter pistol with one of the following:
- Blast pistol…xx pts

He only has one Splinter Pistol so can only get one blast pistol.

You could swap your close combat weapon for Parasite's Kiss (artefact of cruelty) to give you 2 pistols if you wanted though.

That thread is 3 years old and refers to the previous codex, where you could indeed take 2 blast pistols on an Archon.
