| Hey everybody. So I've made a few posts on the Dark Eldar and Eldar facebook pages, but I forgot I never came by the legendary Dark City forums =P. As far as I've ever seen, there's one other Incubus cosplay that I can find on the internet. Even though this is my 2nd cosplay ever.... I thought this was an unacceptable representation of my all time favorite unit of 40k! So it's time to change that. Please note: I love all the varieties of concept art for Incubi, and my armor is most certainly a collaboration of many styles, whilst also maintaining one very important rule... I'm human. There are some restrictions I've had to make for myself, as my aesthetic will never be as perfect as the impossibly slender Eldar =P. I've tried my best though! Especially with the helmet... It is thus far my crowning achievement. I have a TON of photos, but these are the ones that cover the project thus far. If you want more of anything in particular, I'll keep an eye on this post and keep you all updated! Questions, comments, opinions, please feel free! This is a collaboration of all my pieces so far: Leg greaves, thigh armor, chest armor, trophy racks, shoulder armor, upper arm guards, bracers. Bracers have already been replaced though, they were just too dated as they were my first piece I ever made for this Incubi cosplay. "It's the shredder dudes!" Still a W.I.P. These are inspired loosely by the Incubus concept art on page 20 of the 7th edition codex. And finally, the big one so far... My helmet This is right as I finished it, a little rough in some places, but after prep work for painting using Gesso... Cleaned up pretty nice! This will be undergoing a pretty extensive painting process, as will the entire cosplay. I really hope this is something you all like, and I hope I'll be doing the Dark Eldar Cosplay community justice. We need more representation for such a beautiful art style, so I'm trying to change that for all of us Dark Kin =P. | |

| Hell yes. The weapon and the helmet will carry you through any indescrepancies in the frame of your clunky mon-keigh body. This is seriously looking great!
What are you making it out of?

What are you making it out of? Hey everybody, I was doing that human thing and sleeping =P. This project has been mostly made out of Worbla, a thermoplastic that has become quite popular in the Cosplay scene. It comes in thin long sheets, and is a heat activated product. The most common method is: Purchasing craft foam from a hobby store (The thing kind that comes in a large roll), drawing your templates, and then sandwiching two layers of worbla around it. Reason being, Worbla on its own is very flimsy, and won't hold a shape very well. If you would like links to the product, how its used, etc. I can do that for you! The Klaive will be coming, it may actually be demi-klaives though =P. Doing a Klaivex after all lol. And thank you to everybody for the positive response so far!

| Will you attempt to make it so that the Demi-klaives link up to form a single blade or would that be to hard to make work? | |

| I will be trying my hardest to make them attach and detach, as the wow factor for that would be pretty incredible. There are a few methods I will try, and some are easily done, just not as flashy as I want . Practicality but style is what I'm aiming for! And absolutely to the real space raid . | |

| If you're looking for feedback, I think the klaive will make a better visual impression, but that might just be me. | |

| I think it's also the fact that there is no real concept art for demi klaives, because drazhar technically has disembowelers right? I'll be doing sketches of ideas for the klaives soon, so that might help in terms of comparison to the iconic klaive.
EDIT: but Yes, absolutely open to feedback man. It will be hard to match the klaive, so we'll see if it works out!

| All the fan art I've seen of demiklaives looks like either drazhar's weapons or (in a stroke of pure bad judgment) the Warglaives of Azzinoth.
Can't wait to see yours (and your lady friend's) finished work. Always a fan of 40k cosplay.

I'll be brainstorming hard about designs and versatility! Anyone can feel free to put input or concepts out there as well!

| Why not two cleavers? Looking at the model I think that is the best way to go. Basically make one giant Klaive then separate it into two mini Klavies. These would end up like you are willing two big cleavers but it would match the description. Would have to ask you to make one of these for me lol. | |

| Highly awesome. Would you maybe want to do the older staff style Klaives? Using a couple modified broom handles you could perhaps build two sword on a stick style Demiklaives. | |

Yeah so it's hard to really nail down a particular style due to the fact that they give 0 concept art for them =P. But! I do agree in the sense of the cleaver style, because you are correct, aesthetically that is exactly what would fit the bill. It may very well be what I do. And, as the combined demi-klaive is categorized as "Unwieldy" by tabletop standards, you have to imagine it must be pretty massive.

Hmm, this must have been awhile ago. I've been playing for 3-ish years now, and all I've seen for Incubi other than the Klaive is the Punisher. Which klaive are you speaking of?

| It maybe the Punisher. I might just be confused as I'm very new. | |

| They aren't unwieldy, just two handed. Now it still speaks volumes that they can wield it two handed like that and still swing at I5 and I6. | |

Welcome to the forums, and I hope the project will get along well. Thank you very much! On that note, with the majority of my pieces done, here's a W.I.P teaser of my girlfriend's Archon chest piece that I'm working on =P. A little bit blurry, but... Much better. This is dead center of her torso armor, and she decided on the name "Queen of Thorns." So... I surprised her with this little project haha. The entire piece is going to be pretty insane, and I'm far from done with this. I'll reveal the whole chest armor probably by the end of the week!
