| The newest Archon looks like a baby with wind. Who may or may not have soiled himself. | |

Well, maybe it just hit him that he has all the resiliency of a cream-cracker, and that he's armed with amounts to a flintlock pistol and a breadknife. I think soiling himself is an appropriate reaction.

| Well they say an Archon should be silent and deadly, so maybe it does fit with the fluff after all! You can always just swap the head out though; I used the scarred male wych head with a top-knot made from the top of a sybarite helmet. Makes him look a little more arrogant and a little less gassy. | |

| I could put some pictures of them up, but I'd have to take a pic with my ipod, and i'm not sure if the pic on its cam would be good, and how I'd send it over to here pretty easily.
second. Yes, I was NOT a fan of the newest Archons Face. which is why I did have to swap the head out for a different Helmet. haha.

| Definitely the 5th edition Archon. The current one is okay, but he always looks like a vampire that just woke up in his coffin. Maybe I should make him one and just lay him out on the deck of a Raider. Vampire Counts....IN SPACE! | |

| 5th Edition Archon all the way.
The new one looks too much like a pirate wannabe for my taste.

See, I'd actually be fine with a vampire-y Archon. But, whilst this one has the same pose as a really awkward vampire lying in a coffin, the comparison ends there. It looks more like someone cosplaying as a vampire. In fact, it looks like he accidentally wore magnetic armour and is now seriously regretting it. "Help! I can't move my legs any further apart! Maybe if I... oh crap, now my arms are locked together! OW! Why did I have to do this next to the fishing supply shop? What's that creaking behind me? Oh damn, why did I wear a big metal blade on my back? Now it's bending towards me. Why did I put the spikes facing me? OH GOD it's pulling these metal beads through my head!!!" Also, did I mention that his head looks like someone scrawled some features onto a potato?

| Personally I don't like the look of the new Archon. The body pose is fine to me but the crossed arms just looks silly. I do have one though and he is primed and base coated... just will never use him as I don't plan on bringing an Archon in any of my lists and if I do bring an Archon I just use the Succubus model as a stand in. | |

| I use a 5th edition model or one built from the warrior kit with the other head from my archon kit (this one has a blaster). The new succubus model looks great. I've got two. One isn't built yet with plans to convert it to a female solitaire or another succubus if the need arises. | |

| I’m in the 3rd edition archon camp. He “I where your face on my face, your argument is invalid” thing I just too much dark eldar. That and the nostalgic memory, then he slayed a bloodthirstier with his agonizer. | |

| I think they all have their charms, but I really like the newest. I completely see where people are coming from with their criticism, but I think overall it gets the general aesthetic of the line correct, while playing with a sort of sarcastic over-the-top ridiculousness that I appreciate (and perhaps I'm giving the designers more credit than they deserve when I imagine such an intent), and that also is strongly connected to the pimp-hand pony-hair archon of yore in this sense.
I like the pose, feeling it conveys a sense of mocking superiority (though I do admit it has shades of sphincter-clenching about it) pretty well. I like that they recreated the face from the 5th ed codex cover, however approximately. And I cant help but like the edgy-teen crossed arms, I think again because I like to imagine it as a snide tip-of-the-hat to the absurdity of the whole ultra grimdark DE "thing".

Gotta say I would prefer the current plastic one over the 5th ed one (if I hade any of them!) Old school is always the way to go as far as archons are concerned though! - Spoiler:

| definitely! And that is also what it all boils down to I guess. The 3rd ed archons had this crazy extravagant vibe that just falls in line perfectly with DE in my mind; egotistic, megalomaniacal and not afraid to show it | |

| Scourges and Reavers are my favorite DE models, so I wish the rest of the army, archon included, had helmets more like them. I don't like the warrior/archon masks with the cheekbones and T visors as much as the Garuda beaks and mirror plates
But one of the coolest DE helmet designs doesn't have a model, just artwork 2.bp.blogspot.com/_-ni66Nct_tY/TLN4kboPCxI/AAAAAAAAAUA/2UoaF7XlUGE/s1600/deldar.gif

| I like both of them. But new one is more classy. Even more classy than old one. And archon from 5th edition can be easy converted to almost anything | |
