Monthly Vow - April

Well here is mine

Infinity X4 Daturazi Dropzone Commander x4 vampires 40k Venom 30k prime infantry.

Mine shall be to convert and complete painting for 4 Sslyth.

Paint a Dusk Knight drop pod
Build Dusk Knight Grav tactical squad
Paint Iron Fists Land Speeder Storm

Going for a Lord of War April:
-Cobra
-Wraithknight (for a friend)
-Cerastus Knight Lancer
-Avatar (because why not)

Stretch goal: Cast of Players formation

My Mars attacks dreadball team completed. I painted these very quickly, and experimented with quickshade dipping. Pretty impressed with the results. A good tabletop finish in 3 hrs tops.

Allow me to crawl back into the funland.
I want to paint as much of my retribution warmachine army as possible. I pledge to finish Mr. Bossman Vyros and an arcanist by the end of the month

Ok so technically it's not 'finished' just yet, but as the only thing it needs is some hazard striping on the pipework of the harnesses, which you can't really see here and will be done by the weekend, I may as well post this pic up for you - enjoy!



I think in the future that perhaps rather than use washes to shadow the side panels I may look to stipple/drybrush the shading on, I'm not entirely happy with how the wash seems to create a stark line between it and the cream. Any suggestions or tips anyone? I don't have an airbrush so suggesting using one is not helpful.

There's probably a few things you can do. But the easiest is probably to repaint it cream then before laying the wash in there, dampen the area and feather the wash out into the cream

I've managed to complete only two of the promised four, as the bases are extremely popular, and I had only the original two of them up until yesterday. I guess I'll add the next 2 Sslyth to next month's vow.
