| Evening guys. Been watching a Zone Mortalis battlereport on mwg, featuring Salamanders and Eldars. That got me wondering, what would you have taken in 500 points Zone Mortalis, and how would you play that one? Dark Reapers were wrong pick there, it seems, or bad positioning, not sure which of the two. I am of the opinion that DE are the better of the two brothers for Zone Mortalis | |

| Sorry to trouble you buddies, but I am fairly curious about small Zone Mortalis matches. If any of you can point me out to some batrep in any form it would be much appreciated. Am surprised only smaller part of community makes interest in ZM, KT, CP and the like. | |

| Hmm this would leave us with none of our strengths: No access to lots of Fast Attack. (max of 2, 1 if you are the defender) No dedicated transports. (limited FA slots mean it will be tough to take any transports) Maybe no venoms (have to be less than 4" wide and I havent measured). Walkers being allowed absolutely destroys us without our access to our taxi's to avoid them. I think playing this type of game would be an uphill battle unless you were harlies or something. Looks fun either way, but I disagree that we excel at this. Low point games, Yes, but not low point games with FA restrictions and allow walkers but no dedicated transports... | |

| I'm not even remotely familiar with the zone mortalis rules, though I wouldn't be opposed to learning and trying them out. | |

| I googled the PDF, looks like a lot of fun to play. Its like mazes that have special types of missions.
The restrictions kill DE though.
If I played I would probably just steal the maze board idea and make up my own rules. Its like the more stuff I learn about 40k the less faith I have that its not just a room at the zoo full of monkeys on typewriters making up all our rules.

| Zone Mortalis is free for download and use on ForgeWorld, and it's got nice rules, if somewhat hard for Eldars. Do check the latest batrep on miniwargaming featuring Zone Mortalis, very nicely made and kinda sums up what's happening there. Tricky tricky to play it seems. And board is made from FW I believe and is absolutely beautiful. | |

| Perfect rules for "space hulk like" fights, which DE should be present in, as they are fairly piratical. Also special terrain rules which really affect gameplay. Simply perfect. I've found so far only few battle reports, and DE really seem to be absent from the ZM, mostly. Anyways those of you having resources (time, combat partners, sort of a map for it) if you happen to play it make a report | |

| Zone Mortalis is for 30K, Horus Heresy type armies and is designed to be played inside of a psaceship more or less. So its n a 4x4 board and is not "a normal 40K scenario for that reason. | |
