| Hi. I just bought an old dark eldar army from a friend, and amoung other thing, it has a sh*tload of reavers jetbikes. I read a post a few month ago about reaver spam, and I would be interested to try it.
The problem is: My 2 main opponents are imperial guards and Tau.
The imperial guard one like to align a ton of tanks, wyverns included. I don't know how to handle cover-negate blast templates with reavers. I know there is spam saturation, but I'm affraid my army will melt too fast, even if I try to use lign of sight blocking.
The other one is tau. With markerlight, he can negate cover, and I think some other weapons already negate cover.
So, I wonder how to make it work.
PS.: I'm a true kin purist, so Dark eldar only!

| The only option I can think of for running readers in those situations is running them in MSU and try for los blocking terrain. If he does see you, well he will be using 2 squads (marker lights and the shooter) at least to kill a 48-63 point unit, which will mean the rest isn't being targeted. Rip tides aren't fans of venoms, in my experience anyway. | |

| Those are the two worst armies you could face with reavers. Wyverns will wipe you out wholesale and the saturation of shots from Tau will be just as effective.
For guard- wyverns dont need line of sight, so that is no help, msu saturation is not viable as wyverns can "walk" shots onto other units. Your best bet is to go first and turbo right next to (surround) the wyvers or other tanks they dont want to move to make it impossible to place the first template. Still not a good tactic though.
For tau- msu is your only hope. they wont be able to take the cover away from everything, and hope for nightfight for that 2+ cover jink save. get into combat as soon as possible.
The best option is to leave the reavers on the shelf if you are facing those armies.

| That's mostly what I thought. I guess I'll forget about reavers against those players. | |

Don't be too hasty there mate. I do very well with MSU reavers vs Tau and Guard. 6x3 with CC. Flying in from reserve turn 2 with a little manipulation. Your opponent will shoot them with interceptor if he has it and that is a GOOD thing. In his turn he will shoot all his ignore cover at them, this is a GOOD thing. The rest of your army (most of which may also be arriving from reserve as well) are free to cause merry hell. If any do survive, which actually happens, they grab all the OBJs, they shred tau or guard infantry/tanks and tie up riptides too. My IG player local hates my reavers! Give it a try!

| Or couple it with Razorwing Jetfighter and he can't fight both. | |

| Just remember that the RSR detachment is your friend. 6 FA slots for all those 3 man squads | |

| But if I put a razorwing, it will be a fast slot I lose for reavers. For this particular case, and given the razorwing's missile are not very efficient against vehicule, do you think a voidraven could be a good idea? | |
