How do you run your Court?

Hey guys, first time posting to this forum.

I was considering bringing some medusae to next week's tournament, but wanted to know what you guys thought. Right now I have 2 medusae webwaying in with my archon. Is there any point in investing into more units?

I might use a succubus with an archite glaive instead of an archon, but other than that, this is one of the ways a WWP can be useful. Maybe also take an extra medusae or two.

I figured the SF could give them some survivability, my main goal is to fry marines, specifically 2+/4+ jinking bikers

Well, being in a venom helps to be able to stack their templates without having to worry about positioning, or putting a shadowfield in front of troops that aren't allowed to have a friendly model in front of them and still fire their weapons. And all damage done while they're inside the venom, or when the venom explodes uses random allocation, so a shadowfield probably wouldn't add a whole lot of surviveability anyhow.

But those are just my thoughts. I could be wrong.

If you're just looking for a pure anti biker unit, go 4 Medusae and the wwp bearer.

Personally, if I'm going to bother playing the unit and it's already over 200 pts like the above one is, I go whole hog. So, for a little bit of extra staying power, I go like this - 3 Medusae, 4 Sslyth and their Archon with Wwp, SF & agoniser, all converted (screw paying for resin) in a Raider w Dark Lance.

Depends on point level of the game and who my opponent is. All comers list greater than 1500 po ts I do 5 Sslyth, 1 Medusae with Wwp Succubus in a raider. Smaller games against specifically SM I do 3 Medusae and bare bones Wwp archon in venom

I play either three Sslyth and one Medusae with a melee Archon or four Medusae with a Blaster Archon, in a Venom in both cases.

Coming in too late, I'll add thats exactly what I do.

I throw in Medusae, in a Venom, SOMETIMES with an Archon for the WWP.

A couple of times, I've filled a Tantalus with them instead.

I like two Slyth, two Medusa, and an Archon of any flavor in a Venom (with double canons). Tons of infantry shots from anywhere you want it. The Slyth help survivability when the Venom (inevitably) breaks.

With only two Sslyth, you have majority Toughness 3 though. Three would give the unit majority Toughness 5.
