Given that they are in the midst of individual releases of all of their smaller armies, such as Skitarii and GSC, I personally doubt that we will get squatted into anything. In fact, I believe that it was our release back at the end of 5th that showed them that smaller factions could be viable.

| This is probably leading into new DE models for phase 2 of the Fall of Cadia series. Also we know from a white dwarf sidebar that Trazyn the Infinite is on Cadia as well. Earlier talk says that the actual fall of Cadia happens fast. So this means all these forces very well could be lost in the webway and trying to escape in part 2. This would be the perfect time to update all the Eldar in one. Also we suspect Eldar Exodites are also getting a release since there has been a lot of chatter about them.

| This is sounding less like a boardgame and more like something along the lines of Necromunda or Gorkamorka. I played a ton of Necromunda way back when, so it's an exciting concept, but I'm worried about this having the same appeal without the same diversity of gangs.
To my mind it's the best possible scenario provided you can find people to play it with. The advantage of an actual board game is that it's much easier to invite some friends over, share your whiskey with them, and make them play the game you've been wanting to try.
I'm definitely excited about how this will expand our lore, and about the cardboard Commorragh terrain.

| I'm with you on the terrain. I won't mind getting more reavers either. I don't even own hellions as they never seemed like a great choice. I won't mind adding to my collection. They can sit on the shelf with wracks, razorwings, and the mandrakes or maybe be converted to beast masters or something. | |

| Well I can never have to many Reavers and if we got some Dark Eldar Terrain I would definitely buy this. I've never purchased any Hellions so I guess I would assemble them on the off chance I decided to give them a go. | |

| A box of models I don't use in a game I'll never be able to convince anyone else to play for longer than 45 minutes and no rules that carry over to normal 40k. They could have added a slip of paper with some basic formations just for the people who want to use them in 40k but that would encourage people to buy things and we can't have that.
This was a disappointment.

This was a disappointment. Are you really going to complain about the Dark Eldar getting the first board game that doesn't have Spess Marines in it, and will almost certainly have reavers, the best unit in the codex, at a discount, plus some cardboard Commorragh terrain?

From here https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/02/gangs-of-commorragh-coming-soon/ 'The box is an entirely self-contained game, giving you everything you need to play, including two gangs, rules and card scenery to recreate the jagged towers of Commorraggah’s forbidding skyline.'

I mean the models are cool and I'm sure the game is neat, and the terrain is a nice touch, but as I said, I never use those models and finding people to sit down and play the board game with will be a challenge unto itself. Idk what you want here.

| It's a disappointment. If the Chaos Space Marines got a board game with cardboard terrain, Possessed and Obliterators instead of multiple supplements as a carry over, it would be a disappointment. | |

So you're complaining that the Dark Eldar are getting a board game with some cool stuff instead of a bunch of supplements?

| No, I'm complaining that Dark Eldar are getting a stand alone board game that only includes models that are not selling and no supplements at all, instead of some new models/supplements/pretty much anything other than just a repackaging of our current model line with no rules improvements at all. | |

| @TeenageAngst - Yeah I'm disappointed too. If it had 1 page (or 2... I dare to dream big) of cool formations that at least made hellions usable I would buy it. | |

| The idea of using bits and turning them into a seer council if there are enough hellions might not be out of the question. | |

| I sort of agree with TeenageAngst on this one, for a couple reasons: 1. I have little interest in the boardgame itself.. 2. Half the models aren't currently useful in 40k. 3. Poor sales on a standalone game with unpopular models for a faction that is currently unpopular due to bad rules might reinforce(in GW's collective mind) that DE are an unpopular faction. #3 is the big one for me. I'd hate to think that future DE releases hinge on the sales of this standalone game that doesn't improve DE in 40k and that is released when DE are at their lowest popularity point. And you KNOW it will happen. Some douche in a tie is going to make the argument in a board room somewhere that DE don't sell well, and use this game as an example. It might be obvious to all of us why the game underperformed, and so WE could easily counter his argument, but I don't have trust in a bunch of OTHER douchebags in ties who've never played 40k to do so. | |

| I have to agree they will probably point to low sells as why DE shouldn't get an update. It's been disappointing watching The Cadian Gate info come out and not be included in the fun. | |

| @lament.config, I was also watching the release of The Cadian Gate with both fingers crossed. I cant express my disapointment that we have been forgotten once again. AND this board game has no intention of releasing a Formation.
Would it really have been hard to make a formation of "1 unit reavers, 1 unit hellions. Together they do stuff"?

| They could honestly have just taken the murderflock apocalypse formation and swapped in reavers for scourges and we'd be good. | |

| The Cadian Gate isn't over. This is just the Beginning. Necrons are starting to appear, rumor has it Trazyn has been seen on Cadia. There is still more to come and Dark Eldar may very well have a roll to play in Cadia's Destruction/Salvation.
