Considering he's been holding onto a soul sucking spear for awhile now and he's a hero of Iyanden with martial prowess he's the guy.

But refer to the previous post about time frame. GW has already told us Yvraine escapes Commoragh with the Visarch's help.

Then she goes to Iyanden where a hero dies and is reborn.

He can't help her escape and then become the Visarch retroactively.

If the Iyanden hero is Yriel, I wonder if he will be reborn into a new fleshy body, or if he will become a Wraith construct.

According to white dwarf, the Visarch is a former Dire Avenger Exarch called Laarian

I think he meant that Yriel is still the hero that dies and is reborn

Personally I've found the idea of Khaine's Gate shattering quite interesting I've already preemptively written a little fluff piece about my Archon having a whale of a time hacking through daemons on his home turf

Our codex says that khaine's gate opening would be extremely bad for the webway and of course Commorragh. Like spewing out an endless torrent of deamons bad.

Thats why they went to so much trouble to seal it up in the first place. And why Vect has stationed 500 incubi to guard it and several of his arcane super weapons in the chamber.

GW does not read their own fluff anyway so i'm not expecting a coherent story here.

Why not just cut off that section of the webway and destroy it, didn't Vect do that to someone who opposed his power in the past?

If you are referring to the happenings of Shaa-dom, Vect sent a burning imperial battleship to the sub-realm. The resulting impact tore open a warp-rift and the incoming daemon invasion basically annihilated everything within a week.

But it wasn't sealed.


I think Vect hoped to use the inevitable Dysjunction to kill of a great share of his competitors. Most of the incubi guarding the gate were an annoyance to Vect and he greatly gave away territory around the gate to Kabals that fell out of favour. Meanwhile he shifted his own centers of power to well-protected sub-realms.

Usual Vect stuff.

Anything they want can happen when Khaine's Gate opens because it's not real.

So did anyone else notice from the leaks that the ynnari can field ghost warriors (wraithguard and such). It says they have been returned to full sentience by the ynnari and joined them. The necromancy is now full blown.

.... Wait, what? The Visarch was originally a Dire Avenger, and this guy had the skils to knock off a Klaivex? Ba-ha-ha! That's a good one!

Well he was am exarch so that plus 1 wound probably helped lol.

But in all seriousness, exarchs are no slouches and even with dire avenger gear it wouldn't be impossible to imagine, and this guy was an incubi by that point.

I wonder if that means they will be even more powerful in the Ynnari faction, because what wraith units need is even more buffs and access to Dark Eldar transports again.

Well I'm not sure how they will handle it. The wraith units don't have battle focus to lose in the first place.

If they want to draw the CWE players into playing Ynnadi (and thus buying all forthcoming Aeldari models/books) they have to make them at least on par with the CWE in terms of effectiveness. Simply opening up the DE and Harlequin codexes isn't enough, CWE more or less already have that AND fabulous formations to boot. Even ignoring Forge World, they need something on par with 30 Warp Spiders, or the Wraith Host, or the Seer Council. Giving wraith units something disgusting like the old pain token rules might just be enough to do it though.

I do wonder what exactly the harlequin lose in exchange for the Ynnari rule. For us it's PfP, for craftworld it's battle focus. So for harlequins it's their... 5+ invuln? Flip belt? Sense of humor?
