LVO UPDATE

Lawrence of table top tactics just lost in the 4th round to Josh death now ranked 34. Highest DE player.

What are their lists like?

Lawrence is running an HQ in Venom (not sure if it's a Lhamaean or Archon), two units of Kabalite Warriors in Venoms, five 6 man Reaver units with allied Craftworld Eldar with Farseer on bike, I think his 3 man Warlock Conclave on bikes, two 3 man Scattpacks and a D shot Wraithknight.

From what he's said on facebook he still reckons he's within a chance of the top 8.

Funny Josh Death can afford to go to the LVO but can't afford to keep his dog out of jail.

Well obviously the LVO is more important than some mutt.

Update after round 5 Lawrence is 18th and the third highest player with a loss. 7 no loss 8 people with draws. Corsair player at 9th.

That dog got him kicked out of the NOVA GT. This was after he handed out little wooden cards with his name carved on them.

So he brought his behemoth of a dog to the hotel where the GT was being held by claiming it was a service dog (it wasn't). The dog wasn't exactly friendly and on the second day he'd left it in the hotel portion of the building and it was apparently trying to snap at people. The hotel demanded he remove it from the property and when no one went to bat for him he left with his dog in the middle of the tournament. He even left his models behind. Apparently he was also being quite a d*** about the whole thing too.

Final dark eldar LVO update Lawrence tied 9th another DeShazo player tied 12th. The corsair player is top 8 and playing tomorrow

That's a damn fine showing for Dark Eldar!

Looks like Lawrence finished in joint 9th with a Dark Angels player. An amazing showing for the True Kin.

TBH I admire Lawrence as one of the most inspiring True Kin players, but a list with a farseer conclave and a WK feels like cheating if we want to consider it as an example of how far DE can arrive in a competitive tournament.

Because not cheating. It's just a Craftworld Eldar army...

The other DE list had corsairs, the Corsair list has 2 scalpel squadrons.

He won plenty of tournaments with pure DE. I think he has aleady proven they can compete. If he wanted to get funky with his list this time and add some craftworlders to make life a little simpler for him he has more than earned it.

Good for both of them! It's nice to see the True Kin represented so high up a list of winners.

Lots of this. Besides, how many "pure" single faction lists are played well at tournaments? They tend to be the exception rather than the rule unless their primary codex is one of the few top-tiered ones.

He can run whatever he wants to run. I'm just not gonna be like "aye, this guy's proving DE are good cause he's got Reaver spam in with his FW Wraithknight and his scatbikes lmao".

He doesn't need to prove DE are good. We know they aren't, but he's proven that he is. Good on him.

I'm interested in hearing how Massean is doing in the finals.
