Newb to Dark Eldar

Hey everyone - I returned to Warhammer 40k after playing back in 2nd (with Eldar) and a little bit of 3rd before getting swept up in Uni, going to work etc... 15 or so years later and im back!

Picked up a bunch of marines units and have been playing Space Marines for a few months. Really like playing them and enjoy the fluff, but then I came across the Dark Eldar - and I couldnt stop reading. Loved the fluff, even reading about the army, the units, and the challenges associated with them and I was hooked! Bought the codex and have been reading it a bunch, and then I discovered the podcast! It was enough to spark me to buy a few things (or more than a few things).

My local GW store usually hold 750 point comps with the following setup - 1 HQ, 1 Troop, 1 FA, 1 Elite, 1 Heavy, and then 1 auxillary (which is basically your choice of another Troop, FA, Elite or Heavy).

Went online and ordered -
- Getting Started Box
- A Ravager
- Incubi
- 2 x Venoms
- Kabalite Skysplinter pack.

Should have me covered for a little bit to start off and build my 750!

Cant wait to play with them.

(Once ive got a bit more cash and to hit 1000 points, ill prob grab a razorwing, scourges, and prob another raveger).

Welcome! It sounds like you'll bring a very interesting perspective to the forum given your predilection for small games.

Welcome to the dark city! Don't mind the demons and doom sayers the last dysjunktion swept them inside.

I do actually like the smaller games. The restrictions make it interesting, and difficult for some armies (like nids). They also do escalation days that start with 200 point kill team, 500 point games then 750 as above and then 1000 points.

I've only done the kill team and 750 with my marines but not in the Comp days. Am def excited to give the DE a run there. Not sure if anyone else there plays Dark Eldar - I def haven't seen anyone at least.
