| Since people are holding up on their purchases I would advice GW to release it rather soon. I'd give it to mid May somewhere. Also the release months for 40k is may and Juli, so what other than 8th can they release to make people spend money again | |

| Well ... "Technically" the dark eldar do have psychers that the can take ... Yvraine and the Yncarne can be taken in any dark eldar army ... Without having to be part of their own ynnari cad ... Though I really hope they don't count them as Dark Eldar psychers ... But if we look at our wargear we already have "defense" to psychers ... But it's so short ranged it isn't worth using unless you have nothing else to spend points on ... | |

| The crucible of malediction used to be an amazing anti-psyker tool. It was 1 use only, but had 9" range(ended up being a ~19" area of effect), and was basically a nova that forced a leadership test on every psyker within range, and any that failed were removed from the game. Against opponents with lots of psykers, when paired with our old leadership shenanigans and a webway portal or something, it could be devastating.
It was a shame they made it suck while giving us greater access to more severe leadership penalties(while making said leadership penalties less numerous).

I'm expecting Keywords to work like they do in Sigmar, so Raider will end up with Vehicle, Aeldari, Dark Eldar and maybe Skimmer. I fully expect things like transport capacity, fire points and any bonuses to charging out of the vehicle to listed in its rules rather than keywords, they tend to be used to determine which special abilities effect which units. - Anarchistscourge wrote:

Personally I'm hoping Eternal Warrior and Instant Death get competely nixed from the game. With damage values and no cap on strength both rules and what they represent seem to be completely redundant in the new edition. Personally I'm hoping we get wargear that works to block Psychic powers myself, a reworking of the Helm of Spite to let the bearer dispel 2 Psychic powers a turn would be great.

I dont want this, 1 shooting large multi wound models via it being MC's, tanks, fliers etc.. isnt fun to invest 250pts and watch it die from 1 tiny thing. IMO games are more fun when its tactically even with a good back and forth. The greatest game i've every played, it was so good I will remember it till the day I die. It was SM-SW vs my Eldar Corsairs, it was just this amazing mess of movement and trying to get target priorities while still getting objectives, it was 3hrs for 3 turns (and every minute was great) at the end of turn 3 it was 5-6 points, we ended it called it a tie due to time restraints. These are the games I want, like a good boxing match, a series of great back and forth for multi rounds. ID, outright killing, no saves+no invuls, ignore FnP etc.. was needed due to DS's and Knights, but hopefully all that will go away.

| I just want DE to be as broken in 40k as Harlequins are in shadowrun. Anyone who knows anything about tactics knows if you think you're walking into a "fair fight" you've already lost. There's never going to be a completely level playing field, so if a faction is gonna be the best, I want it to be Dark Eldar. | |

| I'm of the opposite opinion. Balanced yes op no. I always liked Eldar and dark eldar and when ynnari came out I started them Now everyone knows they are op and my friends just moan at me. I'd rather have a slightly worse off army and strive to be better than having to take crap I dont like to be worse | |

| Win hard and tell your friends to get good if they're gonna be like that. If they want you to tone it down, take a few units out and spank them anyway. Assert your space elf dominance. | |

| Harlequins were easily among the scariest things in the game in Rogue Trader and 2nd edition. (I know it doesn't work like that, but I always kind of felt like if you'd taken the time to paint them up properly, you'd earned it.)
Currently, I think they suffer from the same problem as Wyches: they're supposed to be fast, hard to hit, highly skilled troops who are stuck in a basic rules system that isn't really capable of representing any of those things.
While they probably could've stood to be toned down a bit in 1st/2nd ed, at least their performance on the table matched their lore. After all, they're supposed to be able to cut through Marines like warm butter.

I'd really like to see more models be able to fit that description. I want stuff to match their lore, and just balance them with points. Make harlies and wyches awesome, then just make them cost more. The same with literally every unit in the game. And add some less skilled units!!! Maybe DE could have some units of slaves that are battle thralls to be their less skilled, low-cost variants, sort of like chaos cultists.

It's probably more trouble than it's worth. Some more mercenary units might be cool though. Commorragh is supposed to be packed full of mercenaries of all races/types, including many xenos that aren't standard 40k races.

| Archons could take bikes and skyboards back in our 3rd ed codex. It would be nice if we got that back.
They were also nigh-unstoppable killing machines. It would be nice if we got that back too.

| I missed it if anyone else commented on this, and I'm kind of surprised it took me this long to think of it, but:
Without AV, I wonder what darklight will do. Nothing? Toughness over X counts as X? Something keyword-related?

| Well I hope that the days of "And They Shall Know No Rules" is gone but I'm not counting on it given GW's history.
With that said I'm been wondering what lance weapons will do as well. It isn't just an issue of Darklight brightlances and other lance weapons are effected by this.
Blasters I'm really curious about in 8th? They are both darklight lance and blasts. I've always thought that given the fluff on Darklight it should have a blinding effect.

| Pretty sure they said marines would have 6, clowns 7, and gaunts 8. That's fine by me since we have raiders.
I'm most interested in reading about modifiers to hit. Hope they replace cover saves.

If the to wound chart lets you wound anything on a 6 (eg the much publicised lasguns hurting a Land Raider), a flat +1 modifier is not a bad deal. Anything on a 5+, and lots of heavy enemies on a 2+ or 3+? I'd take it. Of course if the to wound chart goes on to 6+ followed by a 3+, 6+ then a 6+ etc then it ain't so great. - Calyptra wrote:

| I wonder if the movement attribute will be related to the former initiative value, only modified by slow and purposefull or things like that...
Marines 6" (ini 4), Terminators 5' (ini 4 relentless) Eldars 7" (ini 5), dark reapers 6" (ini 5 SaP), wyches and harlequins 8 (ini 6)
I loved it when I read in the new 40k website that Dark Eldar lost their psychic abilities but have superior athlete bodies. The true kin are the stronger kin now. I bet furious charge or WS 2+ in the case of wyches?
