| Very interesting points, and I like to read this.
There are a couple points I don't get tho. First, in the post with blasters vs haywire blasters you present 3 graphs. If i read this correctly, this is the chance for one shot (d3 for haywire) to do 0, 1 ... or 6 damage. This should then add up to 1.0 (a bit less for haywire) and this seems fine for the first 2 graphs, but for blaster vs raider i only add up to about 0.72 (0.48+0.04*6). Where is the missing 0.28?
The second point is about Dark Lance and Disintegrator Cannon vs Ghost Ark. "A 3DC Ravager gets on average 6 hits > 2 wounds > 1,67 dmg. That is 1,33 per 100pts." How do you get to 1.67 damage? 2 wounds equal 4 damage with 1/36 of it being reduced to 0 and 11/36 of it being reduced to 2. Am I correct in that this really should have been 3.28 dmg, or 2.62 dmg per 100 point cost?
In your 3rd post about killing infantry, you fire with your venoms in addition to the kabalites inside. When in raiders, do you fire with the raider also? If so, with a dissie? Would be nice to know, since now it seems like putting kabalites in raiders is really bad.
Looking forward to more.

It has been adjusted to the point cost of these Scourge ;D this is why blasters do not add up to 100%. This might be not the most elegant solution but it shows the impact of cost on the damage. - Rashkasha wrote:

Am I correct in that this really should have been 3.28 dmg, or 2.62 dmg per 100 point cost? You are partially right, but you forgot about the 5/6 chance of him succeding an armor save. An unsaved wound results in 1,67 dmg on average. I must have made a mistake in my calculations. It should be 6hits>2wounds>1,67 unsaved wounds > 2,78 damage That is 2,22 dmg/100pts Thanks for noticing that! - Rashkasha wrote:

I did not count for the damage done by a DC/DL as I assumed you will save those for some tougher targets.

| Ghost ark has 4+ armor, so will not get armor save vs DC. | |

| I have found the mistake then. Simoly forgot to multiply by 2 dmg done by a Dc | |

| I have to say this is really a nice written blog.
Your graphs and tables are not simply a summary of extensive mathhammer use, but provide much deeper insight. Also it's not only about what deals the most dmg, like the post about getting the first turn.
Very well written. | |
