Best point level for Alliance of agony

Hey fellow Archons and Succubi,
I am playing around with some lists and I seem to get into trouble having one of each to use the alliance of agony at 1500 points and less. Maybe it´s because of my desire to include stuff like a grotesquerie (two units of them) or another big hammer, but I wanted to know if you struggle with this too and at which point level do you use it?

I like it best at 2k, of course. Even then I want to use more toys than there's room for.
My multiple list building exercises has led me to think of building 3 patrols of descending number and footprint. My go-to would be Kabalites taking up the most with ~3 packed Raiders, 2-3 Ravagers, Venom with an Archon and Sslyth/Lhamean > Prophets with 1-2 Grots (4-6 fuglies) and 2-3 Taloi, 1 venom Wrack > Red Grief Succs and her cheerleaders (that's literally it).

Or flip the pyramid so you're relying on one thing for less than the others

I always use it, even if I've only got a Succubus or Haemonculus to use it on rather than both.
