Is it true that it's now a str 4 hit all around for units inside of a transport when it explodes(opened top or not)? If so that coupled with the fact our transports explode on a 4+ so long as it is hit with an AP2 wpn makes wych armies VERY difficult to use. 6th is defiantly geared more towards shooting, which we can do fine, but it just sucks I bought so many wyches =(

It's pretty harsh. The Pain token is still valuable for getting a decent number of girls out of an explosion. I'm not sure what is better now for a Wych cult- 3+ big boats with Haemonculi, or several smaller boats and betting on The Duke to deliver army-wide Pain Tokens.

Blasterborn are left with no recourse, and while I never had a squad get wiped entirely, seeing a Razorback down a 65 point Venom and take 81 points of Trueborn with it is not very fun.

You were unlucky then... because i run 3x3 blasterborns in venom and they never disappointed me. Just be smart about the positioning.

Only so much positioning can do for blaster born, they only have an 18 inch range so no matter how you slice it 18" is not a safe distance for DE.

I have really been looking for reasons to keep wyches in my army and I just can't do it; no point in them being obj holders because wracks do it better, loading them down with HWG's makes them an overpriced demolition team that is likely to get shot to pieces before it even makes it anywhere.

In hindsight I truly now believe the only new codex that was made "with 6th in mind" is necrons, everyone else is just waiting for an update again(something we won't get for a VERY long time).

There is some truth in what you say, but everything isn't as bad as all that. Yes, explosions are much worse now, but vehicles don't explode as often. Thanks to hull points, they often just get glanced down, and your guys can simply get out and take cover in the wreck. Still not thrilling, but a little bit better.

Wyches... yeah. I have to admit, there isn't much they can do at this time that couldn't be done better with kabalite warriors. The reason to take them is that we love them, and we can make them work if we try, but there's no denying they've been nerfed badly. But have faith! We'll get another editing pass over the f.a.q's before the summer is over, and I'm sure wyches will get a little boost.
