| Hi all. This is my first post on this fine forum. I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on my list. This is meant to be competitive and is something I'm building towards.
DE Baron Sathonyx - 105pts
11 Hellions, Helliarch w/SC - 191pts 3 Wracks - 30pts
5 Warriors w/B. Venom w/2xSC - 125pts 5 Warriors w/B. Venom w/2xSC - 125pts
10 Warriors w/SC. Raider w/NS, SR, Dissie - 180pts
6 Reavers w/2xCC, 2xHL - 196pts 6 Reavers w/2xCC, 2xHL - 196pts
Ravager w/NS - 115pts Ravager w/NS - 115pts Voidraven w/NS, 2xSSM - 175pts
CWE Allies Farseer w/JB, SS, RoW, Doom - 128pts 3 Jetbike Guardians - 66pts
= 1747pts
(For a 1850 point battle I'd add an Aegis Defence Line with Quad gun for some AA. This would be manned by the wracks).
The Baron deploys with the wracks and steals their pain token for the Hellions turn 1. The wracks hide away somewhere and get forgotten about until they nab an objective. The Farseer runs around dooming things (I could also swap this out for prescience if I see fit) and providing psychic defence. I think it's pretty balanced. It has 6 scoring units. AI, AT with 14 lance weapons and the VR provides some anti flyer with the ADL in slightly bigger games. What are peoples thoughts?

| wracks are elites without a heamy, have you left a heamy out or do you need to put one in? | |

| Oh yes that is a good point! I'm so used to having a Haemon in my army I forgot. Nah I don't think this list will really work with one and I'd have to drop a lot to take one. 5 Scoring units is fine though I think. Well spotted though and thanks for pointing it out. | |

| If you included a haemie you could do a pain token swap I saw someone write a tactica about a while ago on here. Basically you put the baron with wracks and the haemie with the hellions, you then use the baron to take the wracks' pain token and the haemie leaves his with the hellions so then you can join up with the baron and the squad will have 2 paint tokens giving it feel no pain and furious charge which means str 5 on the charge not including a lucky drug roll for the other bonus str which would give you str 6 on the charge which if you pair with hit and run you can get a lot of high str attacks coing from somewhere your opponent probably won't be expecting it. And if you get the pain token on the drug table then you can use the haemie's pain token somewhere else | |

Yea this could be an effective tactic. I've read about this before but never done such a thing. Where do you think I could shave 50 points though? I suppose I could drop the Warrior Raider squad down to a 5 man in a Venom squad. That'll give me 55 points so a Haemon w/VB. It's a shame to lose the Disintegrator though. Would it be worth it? I'd like to try it out in some games but I'm a while off owning this army. If people see it as a viable force I'm going to work towards building it. I have half the models. I just need the hellions, reavers and eldar detachment. (and ADL but I want to build a DE looking one of those). I'll keep having battles as my army expands. I had my first one with 6th ed rules two weeks ago. It was 750 points. I'm going to have one at 1,000, 1,250, 1,500, and at 1,750 I'll use this list! Can't link to the bat rep for 7 days apparently

6 Reavers w/2xCC, 2xHL - 196pts My only piece of advice is if you have the models, is to drop the caltrops and get 3 more reavers and a third heatlance. It's only 40pts more then you current build and is more survivable, can blade vane just as effectively (9 wounds against T4 vs 9.83 wounds with caltrops), has a lot more AT punch, and can be a reasonable close combat bully unit. Not a bad unit for you farseer to hang around in. Speaking of which your farseer has Doom which has very little effect on cluster clatrops (they already wound on 2+) but a large effect on regular bladevane attacks. Doom is mathematically the same as giving a unit of nine reavers three cluster caltrops (for free!). Worth considering if you could free up the points elsewhere. Hope that helps.

Hope that helps. Thank you for the advice Mushkilla. Funnily enough I was rethinking the list last night with something like that in mind. What do you think of dropping the 10 man Warrior squad and rejigging the Reavers to allow for more hellions, reavers and a Haemon to provide a second pain token to the Baron's squad. So here is the new list: (Changes in green) DEBaron Sathonyx - 105pts Haemon - 50pts15 Hellions, Helliarch w/SC - 255pts3 Wracks - 30pts 5 Warriors w/B. Venom w/2xSC - 125pts 5 Warriors w/B. Venom w/2xSC - 125pts 9 Reavers w/3xHL - 234pts 6 Reavers w/2xCC - 172ptsRavager w/NS - 115pts Ravager w/NS - 115pts Voidraven w/NS, 2xSSM - 175pts CWE AlliesFarseer w/JB, SS, RoW, Doom - 128pts 3 Jetbike Guardians - 66pts ADL w/QC - 100pts = 1795pts So I've got 55 points spare for a 1,850 point game. What are people's thoughts on what I could spend them on? I could give my Farseer SS and Prescience (take mind war) so he can double his casting power. Then I have 15 points spare. I could give two HL to the other Reavers and then do something with the other 30 points. Maybe NS on the Venoms and Voidraven. Or a SC on the EJBs? I'm really stuck to what is best for the final tweak. Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm hoping this list could be quite formidable.
