1250 pt starter list

Greetings to you Archons, Succubi , and haemonculi. I have recently aqquired through purchase and gift a collection of Dark Eldar and am trying to hammer it into a 1250 point list. And I need the help of those more experienced than me!(since my total DE experience is getting my butt beat by DE in my first ever game during 3rd edition 40k)

Here is what I have so far. I'm going to put my notes in [ ] just to show you my thought process

Dark Eldar- 1217(1250)
HQ-105 pts
The Duchess(The Baron)-105 pts[I was given 10 hellions and based on what i have read this is the only way to make them at all useful. If you can make them useful without the Baron please let me know because I am frankly not that big into special characters]

Wyches-220 pts [deliver wyches to enemy asap and hopefully they smash face]

This all comes out to 1217 out of the 1250 I'm looking for

So the only other models I have are 5 more warriors, 5 more wyches(these are all unbuilt btw) and a half built Archon model.

Is the 5 warriors in the venom really going to do anything? should I upgrade them to trueborn and give them more advanced weaponry?

Should I drop the wyches from the raider, replace them with warriors and put 5 of them in a venom giving me two full gunboats of warriors and two small squads of wyches? would those two wyche squads be worth anything besides using haywires to take out vehicles? and would doing the 2 gunboat/2 vemom set up cut my close combat abilities too much? Or is the Duchess(Baron) her merry band of misfits and the squad of Reavers enough CC to do damage?


oh and I don't know if this just tanks any and all competitive ability but for right now these are the models I have but in the end I don't want to get beasts/wracks/grotesques/haemi etc. just because in my fluff, which I am big into, my leader utterly disdains all that gross nonsense. Can you field a truly competitive army without all the grossness?

Ok, just a few quick ones.

The hamies and their creations are a big part of the DE culture and their twisted minds.. Apart from passing a well needed PT where needed and unlocking the cheapest venom with 2SC for 95pts.

* Skip the FF on all vehicles that you can commit to moving 1" every turn.
* NS on ravagers
* Get more ravagers, having atleast 2-3 is mandatory unless you have a real clear plan on what you are doing against Full Mech!

You know overwatch hurts in 6:th somewhat and vehicle exploding hurts with S4 compared to S3 in 5:th ed. Just so you understand that assault demands more thought than last edition if you want to smash face against shooty armies.
