Substitute for Khymerea

I am about to expand my army with a big beastmaster unit. Both are interesting starts, but both are going to need some custom work, to make them look like the half warp beast Khymerea are.

Wargs are more evil looking, so I would go with them. Or possibly Chaos hounds.

Vampire Counts Dire wolves are a popular alternative I've seen often used.

I used vampier counts dire wolves.

+1 For Vampire Counts dire wolves. Just order some extra bases and then you're set. Plus if you have extra bits (Spawn, Tyranids, Green Stuff) you can get really creative with them. I always wanted to try and add a "smokey" effect to represent the near warp-based nature (beings of nightmare and such)

I used Chaos Warhounds myself. I didn't like the flayed skin look of the originals, so the half undead look of the VC dire wolves didn't do it. Some extra tyranid and chaos spawn bits went a long way to adding some extra to them.
